Into the Mystic was one of the first songs I deeply associated with LA, when I moved here in 2017. I was relocated from the east coast for work and had low expectations. It came as a surprise that I immediately felt at home and experienced a love for this place, as if I’d lived here before. The mountains and ocean, Mediterranean climate and stunning light offer so much beauty — and the landscapes with plants I’d never seen before left me feeling like Alice and Wonderland. Some people say wherever you go, there you are, as if your baggage will unexpectedly come along and sour new experiences.
