Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
Today, we honor our Indigenous community, history, and culture whose presence, knowledge, and leadership continue to shape our world.
Here in Los Angeles, we recognize the Gabrieleno Tongva people, the original inhabitants of the land we call home. Honoring Indigenous peoples means learning whose land we’re on, understanding the truth of colonization, and practicing recognition, respect, and responsibility in how we show up in community.
Today and everyday, let’s turn recognition into responsibility and work toward a future where every our Indigenous community can live with dignity, power, and freedom.
