I’m always on the hunt for Steve Ditko related articles and videos, and watch and read a lot stuff. But honestly, I don’t always like what I find, but of course I’m extremely biased. Well, I ran into this video tonight and it’s pretty good. It shows as 15+ minutes long, but the Steve Ditko portion is just the first 9 minutes. So, if you have 10 minutes, check it out and let me know what you think.

Just got back from the opening of “Inventing America: The Comic Book Revolution”, a new exhibit at the Skirball Museum.

Thanks to Mark 'Zen' Ditko for the invite. This photo of us has a different exhibit slide showing. But I think the labels fit the both of us!!!

Here's a post from the Steve Ditko Fan Group, posted by Rod Drake. You don't see much of this original artwork in the wild. Strange Tales #125, on sale July 9, 1964. The 6th appearance of Baron Mordo has Doctor Strange fleeing to find where Mordo has hidden the captured Ancient One. Dramatic splash page by Ditko as the pair races around the globe; another 10-page mini-epic.

Here's a family shot on the side of the house, of Uncle Steve (15 or 16 yrs old), Aunt Betty (12 or 13 yrs old), our dad, Patrick (7 yrs old?), Mary Anne Singel (Piatak) Uncle Steve's cousin, and Bubba, their mom. (Ages are a bit of a guess, with this photo possibly taken in the very early 40's)

Thanks to Bill Field for this post ... George R R Martin met Steve Ditko at the first NYCC in 1964- this is what he had to say that he brought to the comic landscape…
“Even the best-known, most popular DC character, they all had the same face," he said. "They were all a handsome guy. They had different hair colors and all that, but you know, you couldn’t tell. You take the uniforms off them, you couldn’t tell the Flash from Green Lantern. They had the same face. But, damn. The Ditko characters all had faces. Not just the heroes and the villains, but the supporting characters.”

On May 11, 2026, Essex Street between Delancey & Rivington Streets in NYC was co-named JACK KIRBY WAY, in honor of the Marvel Universe co-creator and pop art pioneer. Pop culture historian and author Roy Schwartz led the campaign.
