In remembrance of the anniversary of the death of Pandit Ravi Shankar (7 April 1920 - 11 December 2012), the Ethnomusicology Archive is pleased to announce that recordings from his 1965 tenure as an artist-in-residence in UCLA Ethnomusicology are now accessible online. The 1965 recordings include lectures and performances, including musical collaborations with Tsun-Yuen Lui and Alla Rakha. The link will also take you to a PBS-aired Shankar concert from 1976 (includes commentary by George Harrison) and Professor Robert Garfias discussing "Socializing with Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan" in Garfias' oral history.
