Their fourth-grade teacher remembers: If Mary wasn't having fun, Ben would sit with her. When teams were picked, he made sure she was included.

At the end of fourth grade, Ben made a promise: "One day, when we're old enough, I'll take you to prom."

Years passed. They went to different schools and lost touch.

Ben became the quarterback of West Middlesex High School. Mary became an equipment manager for Kennedy Catholic High School.

Then one day, their schools faced each other and Ben remembered the promise.

He bought balloons that spelled "PROM" and asked Mary to be his date.

As the lead MH-47 Chinook pilot with the legendary 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment—the Night Stalkers—his job was simple on paper and nearly impossible in reality.
Get the soldiers to the target.
No matter what.
As Slover's helicopter descended toward the landing zone, enemy machine guns opened fire from multiple positions.
The cockpit exploded with impacts.
Armor-piercing rounds tore through the aircraft.
Fifteen rounds entered the cockpit.
Four bullets struck Slover in the leg and hip.
The wounds were severe.
The pain was immediate.
Most pilots would have aborted the landing.

Slover did neither.

A man ordered pizza from Domino's almost every night for 10 years. When he suddenly stopped for 11 days, the staff got worried and saved his life. 🍕❤️

Kirk Alexander, 48, had serious health issues and rarely left his home in Salem, Oregon. His daily pizza orders were so consistent that the store manager, Sarah Fuller, and her team knew him well.

So when his orders stopped appearing on their screen, they noticed.

Fuller checked the system it had been 11 days since his last order. She sent a driver, Tracey Hamblen, to check on him.

When Hamblen arrived, the lights and TV were on, but no one answered the door. He called police.

Inside, officers found Alexander on the floor, in need of urgent medical attention. He was rushed to the hospital.

"He's just an important customer that's part of our family here at Domino's," Fuller said. "We felt like we needed to do something."

Geoffrey Wall, 59, was arrested on June 1, 2026. Investigators say he was promoted to captain in 2009 but never obtained the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) required to command large passenger aircraft.

Instead, he allegedly used fraudulent documents to deceive both Air Canada and Transport Canada for nearly two decades.

He flew Boeing 767s, 777s, and 787s on over 900 domestic and international flights, carrying tens of thousands of passengers. During that time, he earned nearly $3 million in salary.

His fraud was discovered in March 2025 during a routine credential check at Toronto Pearson Airport.

"This is very similar to a doctor that is licensed to practice family medicine but is doing brain surgery in their office," said Deputy Chief Nick Milinovich of Peel Regional Police.

Wall now faces seven criminal charges, including fraud over $5,000 and uttering forged documents. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 29, 2026.

Air Canada maintains that passenger safety was not compromised, stating that Wall passed all required flight competency tests every six months and held a valid Commercial Pilot License, just not the one required for the captain's seat.
