Meet our final performer for this Friday: !

Abby Posner is a multi-instrumentalist originally from the mountains of Colorado.  Posner’s energy is comparable to Chris Thile of Nickel Creek, and The Lumineers.  Her songs range from intimate, haunting folk songs, to upbeat festival/dance your pants off tunes.  She has music placed on Hulu, Netflix, The CW, Freeform, commercials and TV shows all over the US and UK.  Her music video Quiet on Sunset was recently featured on CMT, and she has scored the music for 4 documentaries including Stars award winning Lady Buds.  Posner was one of the lead roles in the Bank Of America ad campaign for Ken Burns Country Music Documentary playing banjo and singing Wagon Wheel along side Dom Flemons and Amythyst Kiah.  She received Official Showcases at Americana Fest 2023, and Folk Alliance International 2022 and 2024. 
Posner is the grand prize winner of the USA Songwriting Competition for her song Get Loud co-written with Ships Have Sailed.  The song has charted on pop radio, and it just recently became the official hype song for the LA Kings!
Posner is also the winner of the Topanga Fiddle Festival’s Best Song award for her song ‘Blind spots’ in 2020.  She signed to Blackbird Record Label in the fall of 2022, and continues to tour all over the US with her newest album Second Chances.

Meet our third performer for this Friday: !

Billy On Campus is one of those bands that sounds like if a funky synthesizer had a sense of humor. Created and fronted by Billy Chadwick on keys and vocals, the music brings a sense of pop, R&B, soul and old school groove with a new school personality. Described as sometimes introspective yet dance inducing music, this music never fails to bring the audience to closely listen to what Billy is singing about. It makes sense too when you hear him live surrounded by his amazing flock of musicians. Their live shows are not only musically pleasing but they bring an energetic showmanship that actively invites audiences to “shake yo pants” and boogie! “I want my music to feel like life! Sometimes there’s a deep meaning, and sometimes I just wanna sing about watermelons” says Billy. Billy On Campus is THAT band, yo. “

Meet our second performer for this Friday: !

Darvishi, an Iranian-American developing pop artist, is embarking on her most exciting journey yet in 2024. Growing up in D.C. and moving to New York to attend NYU, she started her career in film and tech before taking a massive risk and pursuing life as a full-time musician. She released her first single, “Taste Like Summer” in 2019, dropped an EP Colored Heart and recorded her debut indie album 14th and 4th.

Since then Darvishi has relocated to Los Angeles and begun a new chapter of her career. Her sound has developed over the years from a very singer-songwriter background to bonafide popstar with major influences from the early 2000’s mixed in with classic Iranian influenced melodies. Much like her pop princess predecessors, Darvishi’s voice is her signature in each song. Her writing takes a lot of inspiration from artists such as Taylor Swift and Halsey, wanting to write music that strikes a chord, especially with young women.

Titling herself a Persian Pop Princess, Darvishi embarked on a brave journey both as a person and as a 1st generation Iranian-American woman. She believes that her music and sound can showcase messages across the world and unite two cultures that she loves so much.

Meet our first performer for this Friday: !

Boi Xochi (they/them) is an East Los Angeles-born alternative folk artist who has been playing in the LA Music scene since they were 16. Boi Xochi is using their music to break free from the limitations of the binaries of life and process all kinds of grief. This is all while embracing the nostalgia that is often paired with coming out to yourself later in life, leaning into the anti-folk, classic rock and emo styles their inner kid loves. Boi will be celebrating releasing their first single, “Permanent”, on May 10th. When not writing and playing music, they love watching anime, spending time with their friends, hiking, and nerding out over interesting historical facts and their implications.
