Today is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, and my love for California (despite its many problems) continues to increase. If it is safe for you to explore (vaccinated / masked up), explore the world with an open heart and open mind.

We reflect on the struggle then, and how it continues now. This slideshow is a collection of images from our very own Shara Johnson Castelo and her experiences taking part with Black Lives Matter - Los Angeles. It is an empowering and exhilirating feeling to fight for something you believe in and to be surrounded with a community who will fight with and for you. One of the last "live" events we attended before the pandemic hit was National Theatre's showing of Cyrano de Bergerac. It was live-taped and we watched it at a movie theater in downtown LA. And it was such a special production, a very innovative way of watching live performances. The subscription fee can be a bit pricey, especially for people/artists struggling right now, but if you can swing it, we bet that it will satisfy some of your "live show" cravings. And if you can't afford it now, they've done some free showings in the past, so keep a look out for those opportunities! Bonus: actors will be paid for their streamed performances

The closed venue's pay-per-view platform hosts filmed plays starring the likes of Dame Helen Mirren.
