🦋 I sent my first newsletter today in a veryyy long time today. Writing doesn’t usually come naturally to me but I wanted to share more behind my show Kwee·den·seh -opeņ ing 2 morrow At . 🧶 If you missed it let me know and I can add you, the preview link is there too. I also recapped alot that happened in the studio this spring and summer 🌸🌞

Pictured is “We’re under water, Peluche”, one of my favorite pieces in the show. I’m very excited to share these new fluffy pieces. I’m referring to this new series as “Peluches”. A reference to the animated plushies/stuffed objects that engulfed my room in childhood and even now

✨Kwee·den·seh opens this weekend ✨ I’m thrilled and very grateful as this is my second solo show with , now in LA 💗

The title represents the phonetic spelling of
the Spanish word Cuídense, an everyday phrase meaning “take care of yourselves.” A phrase I grew up hearing at the end of most family phone calls or summer time goodbyes.

“The phrase speaks to Sánchez’s practice, referencing self-soothing, mutual care, and tenderness experienced when surrounded by the artwork. This exhibition explores comfort as a form of care, survival, and resistance in the face of overwhelming grief, instability, and systemic violence.
The work emerges from a personal need for safety and grounding during a time when so much in the
world feels devastating. Rather than offering resolution, the works hold space for emotional saturation, meeting the weight of the moment with softness, repetition, and chromatic intensity. Through fiber and form, comfort is both subject and material, like a tactile language for reflection and safe keeping.”

🪢 Loose Ends is one of my favorite pieces we brought to NYC . Today, its soft halo glow, layered textures, and hand-tied ends are bringing up traces of childlike dreams—half-formed, never fully realized, but still quietly held by the inner child 🎈

That time a made a bench - A Bench to Noodle it over for my show Mending Joy 🤧💕 The second slide shows the piece I made from the left over noodle scraps of the bench. I love that blue wall behind the piece as well as transforming the rest of the gallery with an aura blend of pastel colors. Thank you .clt for painting and ty for coming up to photograph the whole show. I have so many more images I never shared.
