A set of about 6 of these piñata chickens were made by us for a Tesco Commercial for the Paul Weiland Film Company, directed by David Garfath. It starred Dudley Moore and was shot in LA. I kept one and brought it back to England with all my other goods and chattels, and I have no idea what happened to the rest, but David La Chapelle obviously found one, and it had a second life in one of his shots, worn by Tom Arnold, for his big coffee table La Chappelle Land. Now it’s a bit of a waste of space in storage and looking a bit tireder than it does here, but I can’t bring myself to throw it out! With

I just found it it’s Batman day today… will this do? As naughty kids we thought we’d do a bit of graffiti in the barn (now converted), having no idea that I’d one day be involved in the early Batman films… perhaps it was a premonition!

Farewell Raymond Briggs, such fond memories of working on my favourite of his books which always appealed to my warped sense of humour! Fungus the Bogeyman, TV series back in 2003 for BBC TV. These were a few of my working drawings, not for live costumes (unfortunately) but for CGI, then in its infancy. Got to meet the man himself, but not until the screening. I asked him if he was horrified to see what we’d done with his work, and he said “On the contrary” he said he loved seeing what we’d done with it. What a gent, a real hero of mine.
