His first appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson was on August 6, 1982. Then was immediately invited to comeback just 6 days later. He ended up doing all his material in those shows but that is what got him writing more and the rest was history.

Funny and some might say a bit controversial. Patrice O'Neil is one of the best comedians, period. In our opinion, would've been more recognized if he'd managed show-network politics a little differently, but to each their own. Seems like he found a show format that suited him perfectly at the end of his career. We still got some great projects he was a part of in Shorties Watchin' Shorties and Tough Crowd.
