Mauricio Cienfuegos, one of El Salvador’s all time greatest soccer players.

I grew up in Downtown L.A. in the 90’s when Diaz Arce and Cienfuegos were Salvadoran national heroes. As a kid, I saw Mauricio play live at the Rose Bowl multiple times. He formed part of LA Galaxy’s starting eleven. He stood out to many as a player of shorter stature who could manipulate the game with his visionary passing. What he lacked in height, speed, snd strength, he made up for in refined tactical and technical abilities.

Mauricio was like Xavi Hernandez (Barcelona)for the LA Galaxy. The point guard at center field that connected the dots. The pitch was his chess board. Never flashy and always dependable. He finished his career with 80 assists and 35 goals across 206 games. He helped deliver Galaxy’s first MLS Cup Championship. Our legend, our hero

Inktober Day 4 - “Cumbia” - Harley Quinn

I imagine Harley Quinn loves cumbia. The Joker, maybe not so much😅

The next prompt on the Inktubre list is “Pájaro” or “Bird.” I’m not sure which bird character to draw yet🧐

More pictures and sketches from Day 1 of Ink-Tubre 2024. I’m using this year’s daily prompt list to practice character illustrations.

Day 1 was “Gorra.” I chose to practice illustrating Benji Price.

Day 2 was “Ojos.” I chose to illustrate Spider-Man. In my opinion, he has the most iconic eyes of any animated character.

Today is day 3, “Alas.” I’ll be illustrating a character that has wings. Day 4 is going to be a little tricky.

Art & Design - Tropic Mike Tyson

Shoutout to for coming up with idea for me to illustrate Mike Tyson with Tropic Salvi board shorts.

Iron Mike Tyson has to be the scariest, most dominant, most prolific heavy weight champ of all time.

I have memories of my father and I watching Iron Mike swarm and belittle men that were bigger than him. It was crazy to see.

Mike didn’t just have brut strength, he had incredible speed, footwork and knowledge. He was the complete package.

Art & Design - Cristiano Ronaldo

is one of the most incredible athletes I’ve ever seen play futbol. I was fortunate to see him practice and play live in Los Angeles, CA, during the height of his Real Madrid days.

I doubt I’ll ever witness a more competitive and exciting rivalry than the one he and Messi created in La Liga. Their individual and team performances pushed the sport to a new level.

Most of the details are in the line work. I like to get my line work crisp and clean. Drawing the creases on the clothing is probably the hardest part for me.

After putting in my base colors, the next part is adding shadow and highlights. I have cinema and photography experience. I use my knowledge of key lighting to choose where shadows and highlights feel natural.
