So many frame life as a battle or war. Many often think of certain aspects of themselves as an "enemy". βοΈ
This way of thinking and believing will only keep you on the "losing" side, since this shadow self knows you better than you do and often operates on a subconscious level.
The belief that we must struggle in life is an illusion.
It's a belief that can change instantly if you choose.
Furthermore, if we view parts of ourselves as monsters to be slain, we live conflicted, and continue along paths of self sabotage.

If you have been trying to battle against yourself, trying to overcome the self through brute force, more regimen, heavier task lists, talking crap to yourself like an abusive drill sergeant all in a vain attempt to improve yourself... the way to defeat this enemy is in fact to invite these parts of yourself to dinner.
Get to know them. Understand free of judgment.
The most powerful way to defeat your enemy is to make them your ally.
What you may realize in this process is that the parts of yourself you've been trying to master, may actually have a lesson to teach
if you'd only listen for a moment.
In my own personal experience and when working with other men, I've found over and over that deep, lasting transformation in behavior, beliefs, and emotions happens through this more subtle approach.
If you've been at war with yourself for years, perhaps now is the time to try peace. π±
It may feel contradictory to make peace with a behavior that you hate, but the twist is that when you change your approach, this "enemy" makes peace with YOU, and your life transforms for the better.
Reach out to me if you need guidance. I'd love to help.
