I can’t believe it’s 4 years since our world premiere!
Writing & directing OVER THE F #(%!NG RAINBOW, SOMEWHERE was one of the most difficult, heart-wrenching & purposeful journeys of my career. It cracked me open & pushed me far beyond comfort into spaces many would rather avoid. Art isn’t meant to be comfortable. It’s meant to be of service. That belief keeps my heart beating as an artist. At its core, this piece exists to give voice, perhaps not to all but to some, whose voices were silenced, dismissed, disbelieved & unprotected. Those denied safety, security, trust, nurturing, altruistic love & peace-the essential human needs every soul deserves. I am committed to giving voice, even if only a faint whisper, to every Bridger & Cat. Life isn’t easy & too many walk through Hades along the way. But they are not alone. I have to believe peace exists somewhere. Maybe it really is OVER THE F #(%!NG RAINBOW, SOMEWHERE.
“OVER THE F #(%!NG RAINBOW, SOMEWHERE is a journey about two broken souls desperately trying to survive their traumatic pasts. Pasts unimaginable to some yet devastatingly real to others. Those others have names: Bridger & Cat. Set in the late 1980s/early 90s, they unknowingly connect one hot, rain-soaked summer night through a fe**sh chatroom. What begins as anonymous escape becomes something dangerous & necessary. In each other’s presence, buried histories surface, stories long held in forced silence. Each becomes a mirror, a trigger & a witness as the weight of their trauma collides in real time. Their encounter ignites & agitates, challenging them to confront what they have spent their lives running from. What unfolds is an uphill battle toward peace. A peace where safety, security, trust, nurturing & unconditional love might converge. A place where survival may finally soften into hope.”
