A restraining-order request can dramatically change a custody battle—but the allegations inside the filing still have to be distinguished from facts proven in court.
Halle Berry’s ex-husband Olivier Martinez has filed for a temporary restraining order and is seeking sole custody of their 12-year-old son, Maceo. In court documents, Olivier alleges Halle recently jumped on their son, grabbed him around the neck and choked him during an altercation. He also claims Halle has physically wrestled with Maceo on previous occasions.
From a family-law standpoint, allegations of child abuse can affect custody and visitation because courts generally prioritize a child’s safety when determining parenting arrangements. But a restraining-order filing represents one party’s allegations—it does not, by itself, establish that those allegations are true.
Olivier isn’t simply accusing his ex-wife of inappropriate discipline—he’s asking a court to restrict Halle’s contact and give him sole custody of their son

Her name is Tahlequah. You might know her as J35.

And it kept sinking. Over and over.

Every single time, she went back down and brought it up again.

Seventeen days of that. Seventeen days of carrying grief across the ocean because she just wasn't ready to stop being a mother.

If you ever doubted animals mourn, she settled it

With Christmas approaching fast, Santa must find someone capable of retrieving it before millions of children wake up to an empty morning.

29 women walked in with HPV. 29 walked out without it.

That's the result Mexican scientist Eva Ramón Gallegos got with photodynamic therapy, a non-invasive technique she spent 20 years studying at Mexico's National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).

The method is clever. A drug goes onto the cervix, turns fluorescent and collects in damaged cells. Then a special laser destroys them while the healthy cells around them survive.

Mexico City wasn't her first test either. She'd already treated 420 patients in Oaxaca and Veracruz.

The women were between 25 and 50. Six months on, the virus was gone. A year later, still gone.

American scientists just got insulin-making cells to grow back on their own.

That matters because diabetes boils down to one failure. Beta cells in the pancreas, the ones that produce insulin, either get destroyed or stop doing their job.

Researchers at Mount Sinai and City of Hope skipped the lab-grown route entirely. They implanted human beta cells into mice, then gave them a two-drug combo built around harmine, a natural compound found in plants.

The cells multiplied. The diabetes reversed.

This was in mice, so people are still waiting their turn.

The long-term vision? One daily pill instead of a lifetime of needles.

Starring: Queen Latifah, T.I., Mahershala Ali, Taraji P. Henson
🎥 Genre: Crime • Drama • Thriller
King of the South (2026) is a powerful Southern crime drama about legacy, power, and the price of control. Set against the backdrop of a sprawling old estate that symbolizes wealth built over generations, the story follows a formidable matriarch who has spent decades holding together a business empire rooted as much in loyalty as in fear. As age and pressure close in, the question of succession ignites quiet wars within her inner circle.
Her ambitious son believes the throne is rightfully his, driven by hunger for respect and a desire to modernize the empire at any cost. Meanwhile, a calculating strategist with deep ties to the family begins pulling strings from the shadows, manipulating old alliances and exposing long-buried secrets. At the center of the storm stands a woman whose love for the family is matched only by her determination to survive, even if it means betrayal.
As law enforcement scrutiny tightens and rivals sense weakness, personal conflicts escalate into violent confrontations. The past refuses to stay buried, and every character is forced to choose between blood, ambition, and survival. Power shifts swiftly, and loyalty proves more dangerous than rebellion.
Dark, emotionally charged, and richly layered, King of the South explores what it truly means to rule—not just a territory, but a legacy that can destroy anyone unprepared to carry its weight.

The UK is building homes for bees straight into its walls.

Brighton made it the law back in 2020. New buildings have to include "bee bricks," blocks dotted with small holes where solitary bees can nest and lay their eggs.

Why solitary bees? They make up more than 90% of the world's bee species. No hives, no honey, but they do serious pollination work on crops and wild plants.

Local firm Green&Blue designed the bricks. Not everyone's sold on them. Critics say the holes might be too shallow for many species, and neglected bricks could end up harboring mites or disease.

Still, a city wall that doubles as a bee nursery is a pretty great idea.

Japan just built a plastic that vanishes in the ocean within hours.

No slow crumble. It just goes, and it leaves zero microplastics behind.

The breakthrough came out of RIKEN and the University of Tokyo, where chemist Takuzo Aida led the team. Their material is strong enough to do the work of regular plastic, yet seawater pulls it apart in a matter of hours. The findings were published in Science.

Then it gets better. Bury it in soil and it breaks down in roughly ten days, releasing nitrogen and phosphorus the way fertilizer would.

Microplastics have already made it into the food on your plate.

This stuff would rather feed the ground than poison it.

Who remembers getting a half-pint bottle of school milk back in the day?

Introduced by Michael Joseph Savage’s Labour Government in 1937, free school milk was a staple of Kiwi childhoods until the scheme ended in 1967. For anyone who grew up in New Zealand during those decades, that little 284 ml bottle brings back a flood of memories.

Every morning, crates of milk were dropped at the school gates, and student "milk monitors" would deliver them to each classroom. The glass bottles had cardboard tops with a punch-out hole for paper straws. But without refrigeration, those bottles often sat out in the sun. By playtime, the cream had risen to the top into lukewarm, sour milk—a rite of passage that turned plenty of Kiwis off plain milk forever!

Yet it was the routine that made it special: sitting on the school veranda with friends, chatting between lessons, and taking a break before a game of bullrush or marbles.
Those little bottles represent an era of barefoot playgrounds, wooden desks, and simpler routines. For generations of Kiwis, seeing one today instantly brings back the sounds of the morning bell and the warmth of a 1950s or 60s childhood.
