Booth refresh at Reclaimed Relics. It’s tricky to see, but I added a patriotic watercolor painting I did for Waco Calligraphy Guild’s annual calendar a couple of years ago. It’s the ‘farmhouse’ wreath and says Red, White, and Blessed. I thought this would work well for a decked-out 250th year celebration of our USA! Come see us at 3954 Old Lorena Road! Rustic Roast is changing hours & adding to the team!

We have noticed we are missing a lot of our customers after we close early on Thursdays… and we have also been asked to be open on Sundays if possible!

Starting JUNE hours will be as follows:

Sunday: closed
Monday: closed
Tuesday: closed
Wednesday: 7:00am-5:30pm
Thursday: 7:00am-5:30pm
Friday: 7:00am-5:30pm
Saturday: 9:30am-5:30pm

Serene, updated. I know something I need to work on is value. I added darks, mid-tone, and a few highlights to this little painting. I changed the background to blue…why? For contrast. Seems like I am gravitating towards a lot of orange and blue in my paintings, but it’s what I like!

A lot has happened this year, and it’s only May! Ack! Yes life has happened, so painting for me has been very slow at best. Even so, God has poured out blessing upon blessing this year, and I am so grateful. Many years-long prayers have been answered so beautifully recently that I could never have imagined the outcome. God is so good, so faithful! The next few weeks will be a time of reflection and refreshment for Mr. Pat and me. In the meantime, this is a quick update on what’s been happening in the Art and Rare Finds area:

—My paintings at Reclaimed Relics have been refreshed. That said, I have many at the house…all available for sale. If something catches your eye..do not hesitate to message me!
—There are a lot of adorable items in my booth just waiting for a home! This weekend, Reclaimed Relics is hosting a Market, Saturday 9-4…I’m sure you’ll find something special for your home in one of the 40+ vendor booths!
—The Wild About Flowers show has ended at Bosque Arts Center, but I’m looking forward to entering work in a couple of upcoming shows this summer. Stay tuned!
—I have enjoyed a couple of relaxing weekends at Wendy’s (Wendy Michelle Davis) Artist Retreat and Backyard Boutique. Those days were filled with art talk and painting…such a blessing!
—Finally, the rains have made everything beautiful…so grateful!

I’d love to hear how you have been blessed this year. Or, if you are in a season of waiting, please let me know how I can pray for you! I know how waiting on the Lord can be trying at times, but I also know that season is always a time of refinement. Joy has always been the reward! Thank you for your encouragement and support so far this year! I’m looking forward to many more painting days coming soon.

Blessings. Another makeover of a previous painting. I’m looking closely, and the only improvement I can detect is I’m developing the ability to layer details and values better than in the previous version. Both versions are full arrangements, but there’s maybe more variety in the current version (the purple background). So, perhaps I should ask you all what you think. Which one speaks to you best? Do you see any differences in depth/details? Thanks in advance!

Supermarket Bouquet. I have worked and worked on this little painting, and I think I’m finally happy. Happy enough to let it live! 😂 I will have this little one along with other paintings at Reclaimed Relics Saturday, May 2nd from 10-2. It’s going to be a great day for shopping after all of this inclement weather. Special prices on many pieces. This is the day to pick up an original piece of art!

Simplicity. I painted the original version last year, but something didn’t quite resonate with me. I finally decided the background needed a change, and the Irises could use a little more as well. Welcome to the 2026 version of this floral painting!
