The last two wonderful Covenant Theatre students we want to introduce to you are Harry Hutto and Lauren Niemeyer.

Harry Hutto is a Sophomore Interdisciplinary Studies major with a primary concentration in theatre. Harry started dabbling in the world of theatre as a joke when he was in high school. Harry wanted to be in one of his friends' senior-directed one-acts, but he wasn't cast. Fortunately for Harry, he ended up getting cast in a far better one-act that kick-started his love for theatre! Harry has been in two senior-directed one acts (in 2023 and 2024), The Play That Goes Wrong, and A Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, plus a short film that never saw the light of day, LOL. He hasn't yet been able to do a show at Covenant but is ready to be part of Covenant Theatre productions in the upcoming year!

Lauren Niemeyer is a freshman from Oxford, MS. She is a business major with a minor in theatre. Lauren has loved theatre since she was young. She has taken part in many plays throughout her high school career, such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Blue Carbuncle, Death on the Nile, and Harvey. Recently, Lauren played a fairy in Covenant's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Besides theatre, she spends her time on the volleyball court, as an outside hitter for the Lady Scots. Lauren plans to continue her theatre career throughout her years at Covenant and can't wait to see what's to come!

Two more theatre students! Meet Sophia Skudlarczyk and Caylah Overby!

Sophia (Phia) Skudlarczyk is from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, and is a sophomore IDS major at Covenant. She is concentrating in Theatre (primary), French, and Art. Sophia has constantly been on stage since she was 6, but her most notable roles have been Lucinda in Into The Woods, Mother Superior in Sister Act, and Harriet from Ghostchasers. Most recently she was seen in Covenant College's A Midsummer Night's Dream as Puck! She is looking forward to this summer so she can spend time with her 5 and 3 year old sisters and perform in community theatre productions.

Caylah Overby is a Theatre Minor and Sophomore English Major with a Writing Concentration. She’s originally from Texas but grew up in Austria. Caylah has done theatre all throughout her scholastic career and is a Texas Thespians National Qualifier, but her favorite production by far has been the recent Covenant College’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Caylah is also an avid music lover and can easily be convinced into joining you at concerts of any kind.

Our next two theatre students are Autumn Harden and Juliet Rough!

Autumn Harden hails from Savannah, Georgia. She is a junior Interdisciplinary Studies major with concentrations in Theatre, English and Art. She has performed in every available Covenant production since her freshman year, including Jane Eyre, Three on the Seesaw, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and others. Outside of college, Autumn has been in such roles as Carlotta in Phantom of the Opera and Clarisse in The Lightning Thief. After college, Autumn plans to marry her high school sweetheart, work in education and hospitality, and create theatre opportunities for homeschooled students.

Juliet Rough is a freshman from Canton, Georgia. She is an English major with a theatre and art history double minor. She has been involved in the performing arts, specifically dance, since she was two years old and has been in her studio’s performing company since she was nine. At Covenant, she performed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Fairy #2 and was also the choreographer for the production. When she’s not performing, Juliet loves to spend time with her two cats, Lady Shakespurr and Tybalt.

The next two Covenant Theatre students we're focusing on this week are Alaina Lamb and Daelynn Allen. Both Alaina and Daelynn are Interdisciplinary Studies major with Theatre as their primary concentration.

Alaina Lamb is a freshman from Wheaton, Illinois, and has been working in theatre throughout her life as both an actor and costume designer. Alaina enjoyed working on Three on a Seesaw as Costume Designer and acting in A Midsummer Night's Dream. The theatre program has been a wonderful space to join and learn about God through art and drama.

Daelynn Allen is a freshman from Waukesha, Wisconsin who was in 14 musicals and 2 plays in high school. Theatre was her youth group, as she performed with a Christian company where her fellow cast members were amazing examples of Christ's love and leadership. Daelynn aspires to work in Theatre Management after graduation because she wants to show the love of Christ to others as it was shown to her in her theatre community. She is so thankful for everyone involved with Covenant Theatre. They are amazing gifts from the Lord! Psalm 127:1

We're wrapping up our theatre program profiles by introducing you to our amazing theatre students!

Mara Kate Barker is a sophomore theatre minor and English major, hailing from Knoxville, TN! While she was in middle school and high school in Knoxville, she participated in several theatre productions at a local children’s theatre. Since coming to Covenant, she has been seen in their productions of Jane Eyre, as Spirit One, and in A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Petra (Peter) Quince. Mara Kate also serves as the president of the Theatre Club at Covenant College and was one of its founding leaders. Mara Kate hopes to someday take her theatre experience beyond college and become a theatre teacher, to share the joy of theatre with future generations!

Cassie Fauble is a Freshman Interdisciplinary Major (Theatre primary, Bible & Education secondary). She’s from Johns Creek, GA, and has always loved combining theatre and faith, through performing, producing, and ministering in the KidsQuest and Rush programs at her home church. Due to a series of God-incidents, she’s been Running Crew Chief for Three on a Seesaw, as well as the Assistant Director for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which was also her first time acting in a full play (as Robin Starveling). She is often spotted walking around in a cloak and can be safely approached if you offer her mac & cheese or a nap.
