🎭Much Ado About Nothing Character Breakdowns🎭

Come audition on May 21st!

Benedick - While this quick-witted, young lord of Padua lives to make his brothers-in-arms laugh, he can be brave and serious when the situation calls for it.

Beatrice - The life of the party, this sharp wit loves to prick the bubble of another’s vanity with her surgical insights into human foibles.

Claudio - This young lord is brave and in love, but also quick to believe he has been wronged.

Hero - Young, naive, and trusting, she maintains hope for her happily-ever-after despite some bruising experiences.

Don Pedro - The wise and fun-loving Prince of Aragon wears his authority comfortably. He sticks up for his friends and is willing to give second chances.

Leonato - The widowed governor of Messina is generous and hospitable with a strong sense of fun as well as honor and duty.

Don John - He’s ambitious, disconnected with his lot in life, and just biding his time to strike.

Borachio - This drunkard is scheming and greedy, yet ultimately remorseful

Conrade - This somewhat pretentious gentleman is just sorry to be caught.

Margaret - This enthusiastic gentlewoman’s goal in life is to eat, drink, and be merry.

Ursula - This respectable gentlewoman encourages others to be respectable too.

Dogberry - This sincere, albeit blundering, constable takes himself and his duties very seriously.

Verges - This faithful assistant to Dogberry looks up to his inept boss.

Friar Francis - This comforting clergyman offers good advice in a crisis.

Balthasar - A troubadour in the house of Leonato, his songs carry thematic import.
