Megan has always presented challenges. Most are WAY above my pay-grade. But every once-in-a-while, my limited skills and tenacity are enough to 'fix her wagon'. She has a old shower chair that we still use because it works so well. Recently, she figured out how to release the latch on the chair's lap tray, remove the tray and then eventually weaponize it. We'd had enough. I got $25 of velcro and some fabric straps with the idea of securing the tray in place. The first test ended looking alot like some magician freeing himself from a straight-jacket. Stewing a bit, I realized that modifying the latch was the answer. My dremel tool easily removed the front end of the latch. We can release the tray by reaching a bit further back and pulling the mechanism itself. Megan is still trying, and will eventually, figure that out. Meanwhile no one is getting hurt.
