After so many months of build up and eager anticipation, team Longwood Ballroom was able to showcase all of the long hours of hard work and love of dance back on a competition dance floor. We are so proud of all of our students who participated at this years’ Tropicana Dance Challenge. They all worked so hard virtually and in person throughout the last 7 months – we could not be more excited to have such an amazing dance family with the drive and determination to improve their dancing while having an amazing time.
Some achievement highlights (alphabetically):
Ann – 1st & 2nd placements in all dances. Two Step Rock Star
John & Patricia – Top Overall Solo Routine, Silver Rhythm Debut
Ulli – Closed Int’l Ballroom Scholarship Champion, Silver Smooth & Standard Debut, Peabody Rock Star
Anabella – Junior Int’l Ballroom & Latin Multi Dance Champion
Walt & Jan – Amateur Open Gold Smooth & Rhythm Champions
Jason & Shannon – (Jason) Top Bronze Male, (Shannon) Closed American Smooth & Rhythm Scholarship Champion, Silver Smooth, Standard, & Rhythm Debut
And a special thank you to each of our all-stars, who collectively helped us win Top Small Studio, Rick’s 4th place top teacher, and Jennifer’s top overall female teacher awards. We have all found the silver lining with this crazy year and cannot wait for Team Longwood Ballroom’s next adventure.

It is so crazy to think that our Longwood Ballroom Spring Showcase was originally scheduled for today. It has been a long 7 weeks. We have missed each of our students- every hug, laugh and dance. The day we dance together again is coming soon… when we get back, lessons may be different for a little while, but we are really looking forward to being back with you all. ❤️💃🕺💕

In light of the recent updates with the COVID-19 and CDC recommendations, the Longwood Ballroom has decided to cancel any social dance parties until further notice. Though we are not worried about contracting the virus, we acknowledge that many of us are in constant contact with those higher risk individuals with compromised immune systems. We all need to be vigilant in preventing the spread of this disease.
Though we are not currently cancelling any private lessons or group classes, we do ask that everyone be mindful of our close contact with each other - if you feel even the slightest bit under the weather, not sure if you’re dealing with allergies, have a little throat tickle or cough, or even just came back from a trip where you were in close contact with a lot of people - please stay home. You will be credited for any missed classes due to illness or questionable illness. In addition, we will be limiting the amount of switching of partners during group classes.
The CDC has communicated that this virus is spread through contact with our faces after touching contaminated surfaces or directly from the droplets from a cough or sneeze.
For those coming in for classes, you will notice the new signs placed around the studio. Before class, please wash hands. After class, please wash hands.
We thank you all for your cooperation and mindfulness in implementing these mitigation strategies. Please let us know if you have any questions. We will look forward to seeing all of you for your regularly scheduled classes.
