Spoke to the Parks and Recreation supervisor tonight. He is hoping to open the pool in a week or 2. Still have testing to be done. He is going to send out an email when the pool is ready. I will post it here.

Looks like another week or 2 at least.

Not too long now! gutter is in, cement poured, now we have to wait for the cement to cure before they can put the liner in. Have no idea how long it takes cement to cure,hopefully not long!!!

Update- The PMJ contractor advised that the anticipated completion date is now between late July and early August due to delays in delivering necessary construction materials.

Official: "The contractor for PMJRC pool said they are currently projecting a July 13 opening date, pending the arrival and installation of the newly constructed stainless-steel pool gutter."

They are saying sometime in July the pool will be open. Don't know what the price for Water Aerobics will be. Don't know how many instructors there will be or the time of classes will be. Hopefully we won't have to share with lap swimmers or people wanting to do their own thing!

Official "We have had our preconstruction meeting with Sunbelt pools and the new gutter system is being constructed off site. Once it is near complete, sunbelt will come out and demo the existing gutter system and install the new one. We anticipate this to happen in the next couple of months."

The paperwork is almost finished. Once all the t's are crossed and the i's dotted, Sun Belt will start work on the pool.

The city council voted to spend over $400,000 to repair PMJ pool! The parks director said it would take 6 months, but he thinks it may not be that long! But they will have to tear up some cement to get to pipes and might find some surprises. Fingers crossed, they don't.
