To all RAL 50 Waco registrants:

In April, I sent a request on behalf of Roy Gotta for help with sound equipment for our upcoming convention. Many of you have generously agreed to help, but we are still in need, especially for 2 speaker stands.

If you can help with any of these, please send an email to

[email protected]
or the home office.

I have had many questions about the RAL 50 Waco schedule. This year IS different than previous years.

Sunday June 21
– Board meetings starting at 9:00 am
– Opening Reception 5:30 pm
– Dance Wizards User Group 8:00 pm

Monday & Tuesday June 22, 23
– Business meeting in the morning
– Education Workshop all day
– Evening Dance

Wednesday June 24
– Business meeting in the morning
– Education Workshop all day
– Award Dinner
– Evening Dance

In previous years, the schedule started on Saturday and ended Wednesday after the morning business meeting. This year there is no half-day schedule as there is no need for time to travel to NSDC.

A detailed schedule will be posted at the website and forwarded with the electronic syllabus prior to the convention.

The Wednesday evening dance will run concurrently with the NSDC Trail End dances. NSDC dancers will be welcomed at all three night’s dances ($10/dancer).

To all RAL 50 Waco registrants:
From Roy Gotta

Greetings. This request is for those of you driving to the Roundalab convention in Waco, TX, this summer. I have agreed to coordinate the sound for our meeting and dance spaces. Unlike last year, I will not be driving to the convention, so I need others to provide equipment necessary for our convention. The 2 dancing halls will be a divided ballroom. One room is Approximately 7200 square feet, and the other is approximately 6500 square feet. The entire ballroom (the two rooms combined) has an existing wood (bamboo) floor. These rooms are in the convention center. Our third room is in the Hilton hotel, where we will have our general meetings and sit-down education sessions.

Equipment requirements:

Amplifiers: (4) ma150s or ma220s. One for each hall and one backup.

Speakers: Ideal – (2) Bose systems - one for each dance hall
(1) half yak w/stand for the meeting room
(2) half yaks w/stands for backup.
OK – (1) Bose system for one dancing hall & (2) half yaks w/stands for the ther dancing hall
(1) half yak w/stand for the meeting room
(2) half yaks w/stands for backup.
Also OK - (2) Half yaks w/stands for each dancing hall - total 4
(1) half yak w/stand for the meeting room
(1) half yak w/stand for the backup.

Speaker wires: 25 foot will probably be good for most, but would like to have (2) 50 foot , just in case. Will also need 2 series Y connectors.

Extension cords:
Surge suppressor power strips. (3)

If you can help with any of these, please send me an email at [email protected] or send to the home office and Al will forward to me.

Roy Gotta
