We figured that since we're all set up to do these diorama base panels anyway and now we know a little more then we might as well do another. This time first we cut two sheets of netting to size. Then we indeed did a second panel, but a little less improvisational this time.

Note the pinking shears, the kind of scissors designed to make a zigzag cut. They're an old time trick to keep a piece of fabric from coming out as vulnerable to unraveling when a string from it gets pulled.

Then laying down the natural fiber twine netting.
Press it into the glue with the brush. Pull it at least a little bit closer to even and flat.
Then even more pouring and brushing on even more glue over the top and along the edges.
Move on to the other half of the cardboard.
And do it all again.

It's a good thing that at least the glue and netting aren't *that* expensive and this doesn't take *too* much time. Because at this rate we'll have to do this at least two or three more times before we can manage it without making any REALLY obvious poor choices. 😂🤣😆

At long last, the workshop is ready, the materials are in place, and since we just bought a new refrigerator, we have exactly the kinds of jumbo sheets of cardboard that we've wanted.

Wish us luck. In the coming days we'll finally be creating the kind of oversized, lightweight base that we've always wanted on which to build our very first planned out ahead diorama.

Yesterday, along with more supplies for our own back garden, we bought an entire little cluster of ten foot and twelve foot strips of metal. A couple of those long metal pieces think that they're meant to part of a roof. The rest think that they're light duty framing for doorways. We think otherwise.
We also bought burlap and wire fencing and a whole bunch of other supplies.

What are we planning to do with all of this? Stay tuned and you'll all get a chance to find out.
