Join us for a powerful evening of storytelling, reflection, and community as we kick off Juneteenth with the Boulder County premiere of 13 Fires by Curtis K. Rogers.

This original stage play tells the story of Indiana Avenue, a once-thriving Black cultural district in Indianapolis, and explores the lasting impact of displacement, redlining, and the fight to preserve community and history. Through powerful performances and deeply personal stories, 13 Fires shines a light on resilience, remembrance, and the enduring spirit of a people whose legacy continues to burn brightly.

DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT: CURTIS K. ROGERS

As we prepare to welcome 13 Fires to Longmont Theatre Company on June 19, we're excited to spotlight the production's director, Curtis K. Rogers.

A Boulder-based playwright, director, educator, and community storyteller, Curtis K. Rogers brings history to life through powerful, thought-provoking theatre. His original work, 13 Fires, tells the story of Indiana Avenue in Indianapolis, once a thriving Black cultural center filled with music, entrepreneurship, and community pride.

Through personal stories and historical events, 13 Fires explores what happens when entire neighborhoods are displaced in the name of "progress." The play examines the lasting impact of redlining, eminent domain, and urban development while celebrating the resilience, culture, and legacy of the people who called Indiana Avenue home.

Join us for this moving and important theatrical experience, followed by a talkback with the cast and director.
