Over a year in the making, my collaborative art exhibition, What's Going On?!? will be opening the end of June at Cafe Aion in Boulder, CO.

Music is certainly the most prevalent art form in my life, and in my opinion, the most powerful. More than any other genre, music evokes intense emotions and visceral memories for me. Combine that with the meaning and stories behind song lyrics, and that is a force to be reckoned with.

As an artist, processing both of these influences simultaneously was fascinating, and a completely different way of creating. Our bodies respond involuntarily to beat and rhythm, which directly affects arm movement and brush strokes. Tempo not only affects these things but influences the mood of a piece, slow and dreamy versus aggressive and vibrant. All of those direct the physical painting process, but before that even starts there’s the analysis of the lyrics. So much can be interpreted from words – some messages seem crystal clear, but frequently song writers use all sorts of analogies and innuendoes that leave room for personal interpretation.

These paintings are my most complex work to date, simply in terms of how much was going through my mind and body as I worked on them. Hopefully they prove thought provoking for the viewers on multiple levels.

There is nothing like First Fridays on Santa Fe in Denver - it’s crazy!!! SO much energy, art and enthusiasts. And Kiss My Aspen will be closing out this weekend at the Lab. Don’t miss this beautiful homage to nature by Colorado artists (including me!)

Don’t miss the closing reception Friday, April 24th! The exhibition is divided between two locations, so be sure to visit both the Bus Stop Gallery and NoBo Art Center on North Broadway in Boulder.

And if you can’t make it, the entire exhibit is online where you can bid in the auction or buy it today!

The NoBo Art District 2026 Members' show is on display NOW! Local art is hanging at both the Bus Stop Gallery (4895 Broadway) and the NoBo Art Center (4929 Broadway Unit E) in north Boulder through April 24th.

And even if you can't make it in person (which is the best way to view any art) you can use the Auction QR code to view, bid and purchase any piece in the exhibit!

You can also donate to this amazing local artists' organization and vote for your favorite NoBo Artist (maybe that's me?!?) using the People's Choice QR code.

I will be in the Bus Stop Gallery Thursday, April 9th from noon to 3, so if you can, stop by and we can enjoy the art together!

It's almost here, the opening reception of Liminal Light at Rembrandt Yard in Boulder, CO this Thursday, March 19th. I've had a sneak peek but am looking forward to seeing the entire exhibit in person - join me from 5-7pm. The East Boulder County Artists’ Preview Exhibit opens Friday, March 13th at The Great Frame Up in downtown Longmont.

Come see the vast array of styles and mediums represented by the EBCA and start planning which artists’ studios you will visit during the tour April 25th and 26th (I hope mine is one of them - 4931 Maxwell Ave, Longmont!)
