We have presented a lot of New Years Eve shows through the past decades. We have had Luau nights, All-Star nights, Swing dance nights - but this is the first time we are presenting NYE as A Smokin' Rockabilly New Years Eve - and bringing in The Paladins to headline. (Dave Gonzalez always wanted to do that special midnight countdown)

Plus the cast also includes Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys, Tim Polecat, Grey DeLisle, Ronnie Mack and Abby Maharaj from Abby Girl & The Real Deal.

We are saving some other big names to announce a bit later.
Hope to see y'all there!

The Paladins were one of leading lights in the California roots and rockabilly music scene of the early '80s, along with such rockin' bands as Los Lobos and the Blasters.

I got my notice from Ticketmaster, as you all probably did, saying they'd been hacked and all the personal info they insisted I give them was at risk.

James Intveld burst onto the rockabilly scene in Southern California while still in high school.
Initially, Intveld worked with his younger brother Ricky in a band known as the Rockin' Shadows.
He wrote and recorded a 45 rpm single in 1982, “My Heart Is Aching For You,” which is now a rockabilly standard and was included on The Best of LA Rockabilly Album on Rhino Records (1983). LISTEN HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM219E5N6aI

During the cow punk movement of the '80s, Intveld worked the same clubs as Dwight Yoakam and Rosie Flores, playing his own brand of rockabilly.

In 1989 he was commissioned to sing all of the vocals for Johnny Depp’s character in the John Waters film "Crybaby."
As a singer, songwriter and sideman, James was in high demand for his skills on slap bass, slide, steel and drums as well as guitar. He’s played bass with Dwight Yoakam, the Mavericks, Ronnie Mack's Barndance at the Palomino - and was lead guitar for the Blasters.

Now, in a nod to his early career, he headlines The BASH - A Swingin’ Rockabilly Weekender on Sat. June 22 with a show that takes him back to his roots titled “James Intveld’s Rockabilly Revue.”

Western swing is about as rootsy as music gets, considering it originated in the 1930s - and includes influences from blues, h***y tonk, jazz and polka. Combined, the music creates a swingin' beat that is eminently danceable and listenable.
