Studio post year end clean up.

As of last week, the DeForest Park studio has permanently closed. The city will soon be renovating the buildings, and the new construction will be utilized for child and youth programming. Campfire Kids.

All of the projects have been relocated to the studio in Bixby Park. As soon as we reopen, you will be able to pick up your pieces there.

Good morning friends.

We are entering what should be the start of our winter session with the city COVID-19 shutdown still firmly in place. Be assured that the program will reactivate as soon as we are allowed. Please don’t give up hope, and thank you for your patience.

We would like to take a moment to check in and issue an update on the status of the Contract Class Program as we enter into the Fall 2020 session.

Per the "Safer at Home" order announced by the City of Long Beach Health and Human Services Department, our Parks, Recreation and Marine Contract Class Program and all of the facilities utilized for operation remain suspended until further notice due to concerns regarding COVID-19.

Although there are a few City-run programs being reopened or “reimagined” we have been informed that the Contract Class Program does not meet the basic requirements necessary to reopen at this time.

As the situation is evolving, information on restarting the programs are consistently being reevaluated. We apologize for the inconvenience, please be patient and we encourage you to stay safe.
