During the guålåfon or full moon on Sunday, February 1st, Kutturan CHamoru Foundation gathered at the Homeland Cultural Center in Long Beach, CA to celebrate a special cultural experience "Lukao Fuha", an ancient CHamoru tradition rarely practiced today.

Participants were invited to step into the footsteps of our ancestors, connecting with the land, the moon, and each other in a way many had never experienced before. It was a moment of reflection, grounding, and cultural pride.

Si Yu'us Ma'ase to Fa'fanague Heidi Chargualaf-Quenga and Mariquita (Micki) Davis, founding fellow members of Gi Matan Guma’ for guiding and facilitating this meaningful ceremony once again. Their leadership and cultural stewardship continue to keep our traditions alive and thriving.

Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ to everyone who joined us in honoring this beautiful practice. May we continue to walk forward with our heritage lighting the way.
