Our friends and hosts at Sunnyside Cemetery need our help!!
Financial stress, drought, and over 100 years of depreciating time have hit Sunnyside Cemetery hard - and they count on YOU, their community, to help keep this crucial institution intact! Please join Friends of Sunnyside Cemetery Long Beach and their team of volunteers to help keep Sunnyside beautiful!
VOLUNTEER GROUNDS CLEANUP coming up Saturday December 2, 2017, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Help for an hour, or all day! You decide!
Help is needed with grounds keeping, including leveling the grounds, mulching select areas, uncovering headstones, w**ding/trimming and general clean-up.
WEAR gloves, sturdy shoes, socks, long pants, hat, and sunblock (LOTS of thistles & pointy w**ds). Please bring your own reusuable water container to reduce the use of bottled water. We will have water for refills and bottled water on hand.
BRING:
• rakes & leaf rakes
• shovels
• brooms for cleaning headstones
• large dust pans
• cordless (gas or battery) w**d trimmers
• hand w**ding tools & clippers
• garbage bags for trash and clippings
*Help reduce the need for bottled water by bringing your own refillable container. Water and light snacks will be provided.
