My Birthday present to myself! At the Dodge Poetry Festival at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).

I met poet Sarah Browning YA'LL!. And I had an opportunity to get a sound bite from her for Corner Calliopes -TBA on that.

I did get to also ask her, Jive Poetic and Noel Quinones a question at the q&a mic about poetry as a theraputic tool---- inspired by how Noel talked of the rewards of collaboration and sharing his personal journey of separation and divorce.The whole presentation was inspiring.

It was awesome hearing them read and catch Jive... "Watching time drown"...and talking GRAPES...and looping! And heard him blend syntax to dedicate a piece to his "dream catcher grandmothers."

And I also sat to watch an extraordinary wonderful 70 minute multimedia concert film directed by David Gonzalez... great post film Q&A.

and I bumped into Lisa James - on her own personal Journey to the Dodge!

And the climax Patti Smith! She honored Dylan, Springsteen, Morrison and read poems of Blake and Whitman. She did not fail to remind us all about our responsibility to vote and fixing the world.

Chris played the Tabla and accompanied me on several of my poetry presentations on that day.

Many have asked about the poem I read "Rumi with Tabla." It's part of an entire collection of poems that were remastered and/or recorded at Chris's Mantra Studios in Island Park, NY.

A sweet time sharing moments of togetherness up at the mic with my soul sister Theresa Berzner.

I read my audience participation piece...shortly tilted "Riders on the Storm" which is about our time together at the beach after Hurricane Sandy, and then we recited our colab Mosaic Poem tilted by Theresa: "We Dance Our Cares Away."

Creating poetry and community together and 'SHORING" up our poetic comrades at Arts In The Plaza---in Kennedy Plaza, in , this Saturday was a mission accomplished.

Thank you Benoir and Atom Rush and Arts In The Plaza for this fun invite!

The will be 'shore-ing' us up at the plaza too! Gregory Cioffi, Peter V. Dugan' Jim Coulter and Theresa Berzner will be on deck with me AKA Corner Calliopes ...joined with Chris Carroll on the tabla!!

Will be starting Sometime around 10 reading to 11 and again at 12:30. It's going to be a unique poetry performance. Atom will begin at 1:00 p.m.

This is a resounding positive review of our program: Explore, Read, and Share at the Long Island Poetry and Literature Repository this last July.

Thank you The Scene for being in attendance and considering coverage of the Long Island Poetry & Literature Repository in your magazine and introducing it's "Revolutionized Mission" as part of the DNA that makes up the Art Scene on Long Island!

I APPRECIATE Steven Leonardo Clifford observations of what we were trying to do and I know that he "gets it!" --- thank you very much Steven.
