Grateful for the progress. A couple of weeks ago I met with Alfred Fraijo Jr. (), Founding Partner of The Somos Group (), along with Tracy Colunga () and Norrell Thompson (), to keep pushing the MOLAA expansion project forward. We met at the iconic Bradbury Building in Downtown LA, home to Somos Group's office and one of the city's most photographed landmarks since 1893. Grateful for partners who believe in this vision as much as I do.

What a joy to share this moment with Cynthia Prida, Vice President for Advancement, MOLAA, at the Imagen Awards. Since Norman Lear co-founded these awards, they have stood for one simple truth: representation matters, and the stories we tell shape how our community is seen. Being here among leaders who champion authentic Latino narratives is a privilege I do not take lightly.

And what a treat to catch Andy García and The CineSon All Stars, with special guest Arturo Sandoval, closing out the night after Andy received his Lifetime Achievement Award. Pure joy on stage.

I'm honored to share that I have been appointed to the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Working Group on the Future of International Committees (ICWG).

This appointment, decided by the ICOM Executive Board, comes at a pivotal moment for our global museum community as we look ahead to how international committees will shape the future of our field. I'm deeply grateful for this trust, and proud to represent ICOM US and bring the perspective of Latin American art and museums to this global conversation.

I look forward to working alongside colleagues from Germany, Pakistan, Japan, Cameroon, Egypt, Israel, Spain, China, and Portugal, under the leadership of co-chairs Gabriele Pieke and Zahida Quadri, and the guidance of ICOM President Antonio Rodríguez.

As President of MOLAA, this is exactly the kind of work I believe in: connecting Latin American art and culture to the global stage. Ready to get to work.

It was a pleasure to welcome Jake Bentham, Correspondence Director/Legislative Assistant in the Office of U.S. Senator Alex Padilla , to MOLAA. We shared the work carried out through our Research Center, our current exhibitions, and our expansion project - designed as a space to strengthen education, research, and public access to our permanent collection of Latin American and Latino art.

We are deeply grateful for U.S. Senator Alex Padilla's steadfast support and unwavering commitment to strengthening our communities through art and culture.

What a privilege to join the 4th Annual Dream Big Conference in Los Angeles, an invitation from Luis Alfredo Vasquez, President of LAVA, for a panel on Building Social Capital for the 2028 Economy and Beyond, hosted by at The California Endowment.

Alongside Stephen Cheung of and Terra VanAndel of , moderated by Michele Siqueiros of .lalocal, I represented MOLAA and shared why social capital, reputation, trust, relationships, reciprocity, matters as much as financial capital in preparing for what LA28 will bring.

Grateful for the invitation and for a room full of entrepreneurs ready to build what comes next.

Welcome back to Long Beach, Dr. Blanchard! 🎓

I had the honor of joining the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce's Visionary Reception celebrating Dr. Loren J. Blanchard, Ph.D., on his appointment as President of California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Blanchard is not new to this community — his roots in the CSU system run deep — and I am thrilled to have him leading CSULB. MOLAA has long partnered with CSULB through arts programming, internships, and fellowships, and I look forward to continuing and strengthening that collaboration under his leadership.

Tuve el honor de participar en la actividad de "Visionary Reception" de la Cámara de Comercio de Long Beach, celebrando el nombramiento del Dr. Loren J. El Dr. Blanchard no es ajeno a esta comunidad —sus vínculos con el sistema CSU son profundos — y me alegra mucho tenerlo al frente de la CSULB. En Ciudad de México, presente en la inauguración de "Objetos de Leyenda: Momentos Icónicos en la Historia del Fútbol" en el Museo Jumex. Una exposición extraordinaria del 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum que llega a México con motivo del FIFA World Cup 2026.

Un honor compartir este momento con Su Alteza Sheikha Najla Ahmad Al Thani, curadora de la exposición, y con Abdulla Yousef Al Mulla, Director del 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
"Futbol" is a universal language. Culture is the bridge that connects us all.

In Mexico City, I had the honor of attending the opening of "Objects of Legends: Iconic Moments in Football History" at Museo Jumex. A remarkable exhibition from the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, arriving in Mexico in the lead-up to FIFA World Cup 2026.

Honored to share this moment with Her Highness Sheikha Najla Ahmad Al Thani, curator of the exhibition, and Abdulla Yousef Al Mulla, Director of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

What a joy to share these moments with the incredible judges, partners, and educators who made our One Frame at a Time Student Film Festival possible. Yvette Espinosa, Guillermo Casarin, Lalo Alcaraz, and Polaris Castillo brought such thoughtful perspective to the judging process, and seeing young filmmakers tell their stories is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. Deeply grateful for the partnership with Superintendent Jill Baker and LBUSD, and for Helen Hernandez and the Imagen Foundation's continued commitment to amplifying Latino voices in the arts. This festival exists because of collaborations like these.
Qué alegría compartir estos momentos con los increíbles jueces, aliados y educadores que hicieron posible nuestro Festival de Cine Estudiantil One Frame at a Time. Yvette Espinosa, Guillermo Casarín, Lalo Alcaraz y Polaris Castillo aportaron una mirada profunda y generosa al proceso, y ver a jóvenes cineastas contar sus historias es una de las partes más gratificantes de este trabajo. A night to remember. The Cal Arts Council 50th Anniversary Gala was a beautiful reminder of how far the arts advocacy movement in California has come, and how much further we're committed to taking it.

I was honored to spend time with Danielle Brazell, Executive Director of Cal Arts Council , Jennifer Caballero, Executive Director of CA Association of Museums, and Griselda Suárez, Cultural Affairs Officer for Long Beach City . Three remarkable women shaping the future of arts and culture in our state.

These connections don't just inspire, they move the work forward.

Una noche para recordar. La Gala del 50 Aniversario del fue un hermoso recordatorio de cuánto ha avanzado el movimiento de defensa de las artes en California, y cuánto más estamos comprometidos a lograr.
