Chicano/a artists in and around Los Angeles create powerful work that blends the political with the personal to reflect the richness and complexity of their communities.

In Every Minute Is History: Five Views of Los Angeles, discover the work of five photographers—Laura Aguilar, Reynaldo Rivera, George Rodríguez, Patssi Valdez, and Ricardo Valverde—and how their distinct approaches helped expand traditional representations of Chicano/a communities in Los Angeles during the second half of the 20th century.

Explore the rich tapestry of cultural and artistic dialogues that shaped Mexico's photographic history.

Featuring photographs spanning the years 1920 to 2017 by artists such as Lola Álvarez Bravo and Manuel Álvarez Bravo, Graciela Iturbide, and Pablo Ortiz Monasterio, among others, Instante/revelación: Moments in Mexican Photography features works by some of the most prominent figures in 20th-century Mexican Photography.

The photographs, donated by Daniel Greenberg and Susan Steinhauser to the Getty Museum over the past 25 years, record the instantes y revelaciones (instants and revelations) of a remarkable century of Mexican creativity.
