Los Angeles League of Arts and your Burning Man Regional Contacts Present

The 15th L.A. Burning Man Decompression Festival on October 22, 2022

The L.A. area Burning Man Decompression Art & Music Festival will be back after several years’ hiatus due to the pandemic. DECOM will take place on October 22, 2022 at 1 pm in a large, smoothly paved parking area surrounding the Scottish Rite Event Center in Downtown Long Beach (855 Elm Street). After 10 pm there will be an on-site After Party in Center’s dance hall and theatre.

As always, DECOM will feature DJ’s, theme camps, art, music, Flow Arts Fire Performances, art cars, food trucks and bars. Unlike at past events, you will be able to take your drink anywhere at this DECOM since it’s on private property. This version of DECOM will resemble the 2016 event held in the L.A. Arts District.

Why aren’t we back at the State Park near L.A.’s Chinatown? Bottom line, it became too expensive after their huge renovation because of their fragile new watering system. As careful as we and our DECOM participants were, the repairs to fix broken watering pipes cost us over $10,000.

More details on the October 22nd DECOM will be published in our local Burning Man Newsletter, on Facebook, and at LADECOM.com

If you or your camp would like to participate, perform, or volunteer please contact the production team at:

The Los Angeles League of Arts (LALA) is the non-profit entity that supports the local official Los Angeles Burning Man Events. LALA Board Members collaborate with the L.A. Burning Man Regional Contacts in order to bring you events such as Decom, Blissmas, BEquinox, and more.

We received five nominees for the upcoming three-year term. The nominees are:

Sal Flores-Trimble

Victor Wright

LALA is looking for two people who will help make the foundation of the organization stronger.

As you vote, please think about what would make the strongest possible Board of Directors.... who would help grow the Los Angeles League of Arts into the organization that best represents you.

Each nominee was given the opportunity to submit a resume, photo of themselves and a video.

Voting will close on March 7, 2022

We are working to book a new location in Long Beach for October in 2022. The covid situation has made large gatherings this Fall in the LA area inadvisable.

(We had to move from the waterside park because Long Beach has rescheduled the Marathon to that date due to covid restrictions earlier in the year and moved the Long Beach Grand Prix to that area for the same reason making the park inaccessible.)
