I was inspired to paint Meghan, Duchess of Sussex after seeing one of Meghan’s posts celebrating International Women’s Day.
It was in the moment in the evening and I sketched in graphite and then permanent 0.1 ink pen. I flowed with my watercolor, like the way I enjoy dance . It felt so enlivening and I became immersed in Meghan’s spirit , deeper in my heart I felt something expanding within.
This is my first in a series as I release my own perfectionism and embrace the moment of connection and practice. Each time I draw, sketch and paint a portrait from photo reference or in person I tune into the unique beauty of each woman., every person has a reservoir of emotions and essence that speak to me. My portraiture is beyond observation it is a spiritual tuning as I capture loving light rays each time .

I am proud to be selected as one of 7 writers reading from The Collective Speaks this quartely , Breaking the Silence Sunday March 15th 5:30 -7:30 (MT)

Thrilled to be selected as one of the South Jersey artists exhibiting at Long Beach Island Foundation All the Small Things juried exhibit.
This is incredibly special to me growing up on LBI in Harvey Cedars throughout my life from childhood in the summers to living on the island in the winter as a waitress early in my career. . LBIF is where I enjoyed art and marine biology classes as a child, and exhibited my first artworks at summer art l festivals on the island. It is where my family instilled the love of the arts and preserving its history. .

I had the pleasure of creating a portrait of Camdyn the barista at Nuanced Café. I am inspired by the beauty and positive energy of Black women and women of color sharing their life stories . As a former barista at Nuanced Cafe, I enjoy sketching and honoring employees and coworkers through my gift of portraits. I was inspired by Camdyn’s beauty, warm heart and welcoming presence a moment when we connected and shared stories after I ordered a chai latte . Weeks later I returned and asked if I could create her portrait at the end of her shift . Together in conversation and painting we did it! Camdyn enjoys her love of dance and is attending Rutgers Camden nursing program . This is my gift of connecting learning and sharing through portraiture.
