Millstone Community Theatre Guild’s upcoming Children’s Workshop for kids from ages 8-16.
The children will be rehearsing to perform “Goldie Locks Goes to Court (a Storyland Juvenile Detention Hearing)” based upon the original play written and directed by local author Virginia Harris. Lydia Hughes will be working with the children as Activities Director during the workshop.
Enrollment will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 18, May 19, and May 21 at Parkway Christian Fellowship church, located at 255 Bill George Road. The cost of this workshop is $25 per child and $10 for each additional child in the same household.
The workshop will be held at Parkway Christian Fellowship from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 8, June 9, June 11, and June 15, with activities and snacks provided. On June 16 and June 18, the workshop will be held in the Laurel County Fiscal Courtroom on the third floor of the Laurel County Courthouse from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., where the play will be performed for the general public on Friday, June 19, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 20, at 2 p.m.
We look forward to teaching the cast of children to portray nursery rhyme and fairytale characters in a real courtroom setting. This play will also teach the children the legal process, consequences and the value of community.
