Hercule Buzzard

Hercule Buzzard Detective Hercule Buzzard's soaring view from 20,000 ft. up. Not as many "little grey cells" as Poirot but can fly much higher. Life lessons written by Sharon K.

Grossman. What could be a better view of Logan and the Hocking Hills of Ohio than that of our event detective, a soaring Buzzard named Hercule, riding the thermals over the land? Tourists and locals, stop here to learn of events and news in the area that Hercule, the Logan Buzz, has spied from the sky. Why a buzzard, you ask? Ahhh, let me tell you about buzzards. The buzzard is a symbol of transfo

rmation and enlightenment, rising into the heavens. They ingest nasty dead things and their system sanitizes it. Without buzzards, we would have a lot more disease. Scientists study buzzards in regard to an antidote for biological warfare. Native Americans call them Peace Eagles because they do not kill to eat. They also can effortlessly soar for hours, and one was seen so high, it looked like a speck in the sky. They are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Some people regard them as nuisances but although they are somewhat challenged in the beauty department, they are at the top of the list of favorites at the Logan Buzz. Our Hercule Buzzard is named after the famed detective, Hercule Poirot, and even though Hercule Buzzard does not have as many little grey cells as Poirot, he definitely has the same nose for discovery. Discovery of events, that is. The Logan Buzz is produced by Sharon Grossman, Perfectus Publications, LLC.

Dear LHSD Families,

Logan-Hocking School Administration and the Board of Education have closely reviewed and assessed enrollment numbers in our school buildings. We have identified opportunities to ensure staff levels, student enrollment and building usage are aligned and efficient, while also ensuring that the District is responsive to population shifts, educational needs and other changes in our local community. As always, our goal is to provide students with a high-quality education in a safe, welcoming environment. Currently, we are working to review solutions and would like to share several options of what this might look like for students, staff and our elementary buildings.

We would like to invite district families and community members to learn more about these findings and possible changes to address them at a community information session.
