Hocking Hills Artists & Craftsmen Association HHACA is an association of artists and craftspersons living in the Hocking Hills area who take pride in handcrafted items for any occasion.

We sponsor an annual Fall Arts & Crafts show at the Hocking Hills State Park Dining Lodge on the last full weekend in September. Featured Artist Sue Cadamagnani

I create jewelry and other art that is inspired by the colors and textures of nature. I often incorporate a variety of materials including natural materials, polymer clay, fiber and recycled items.

Featured Artist Cheryl Cherry spends a lot of her spare time creating art in her home studio. She loves pottery and creating functional ceramic items and miniatures. She also enjoys making hand stitched leather journals, unique jewlery & acrylic paintings. Cheryl will have a selection of her ceramic mugs, small bud vases & hand thrown miniture at the show. She will be demonstrating how she hand stitches her leather journals.

🇺🇸 HOT AIR BALLOON GOURD CLASS 🇺🇸
Create a one-of-a-kind patriotic gourd art piece inspired by America’s 250th celebration!

Saturday, June 27th 1pm to 4pm at Homegrown on Main.

Paint and decorate your own handcrafted hot air balloon made from real gourds grown right here in the Hocking Hills. These whimsical pieces can be displayed indoors, on a covered porch, or in your garden. No experience needed — beginners welcome!

Choose your style when signing up:

🎈 Balloon Only — $35
No opening added. Perfect as hanging Americana décor.

🐦 Birdhouse Version — $45
Includes a birdhouse entrance opening.

🦋 Butterfly House Version — $45
Includes vertical butterfly house slits around the gourd.

Class steps will include:
• Base coating your red, white & blue balloon using predrawn lines as guides
• Sealing the surface
• Adding soft shading and dimension at the seams
• Sponging on stars using stencils
• Personalizing your design if desired
• Applying a final protective sealer
• Attaching and sealing the hanging basket

Outdoor sealant will be provided for birdhouses and butterfly houses to be applied at home after the paint has cured for 48 hours.

Leave with a hand-painted piece of American folk art made from gourds grown in the Hocking Hills! 🇺🇸

Space is limited to 6, so early sign-up is encouraged.

If you would like to create a beautiful Beehive Birdhouse Gourd with Laura Dalton HHACA member on March 21, 2026 1 pm - 4 pm Please contact Homegrown on Main 740-216-4435.

🐝 Beehive Birdhouse Gourd Class – $35

Create your own charming beehive birdhouse using a real hard-shell gourd!

Your class fee includes:

• A cleaned gourd with a 1.25-inch entrance hole

• A handcrafted Quikwood roof

• Jo Sonja acrylic paints, brushes, and supplies

• A protective outdoor sealant to keep your birdhouse beautiful for seasons to come

Class Steps:

1️⃣ Choose your gourd from the available selection (each one is unique in size and shape).

2️⃣ Apply the base coat and initial sealer.

3️⃣ Draw the beehive lines.

4️⃣ Float and seal the beehive details.

5️⃣ Paint the bees.

6️⃣ Paint the entrance and decorative sign.

7️⃣ Take home your painted birdhouse to let the paint cure at least 24 hours before step 8

8️⃣ Apply 2 to 3 coats outdoor sealant and let it cure for at least a week before hanging your birdhouse outside for the birds to begin nesting .

✨ Class size is limited to 10
