The South Louisiana Chapter is proud to announce our 2026 Delta Waterfowl Banquet on October 8, 2026, at the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center in Houma.

In just over two years, the South Louisiana Chapter has grown into the #1 Delta Waterfowl chapter in Louisiana, and we're proud of what we've accomplished together. Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, volunteers, and community, we've done far more than host successful banquets. We've expanded our Wood Duck Box Initiative across multiple parishes, partnered with local governments, schools, and wildlife agencies, supported youth shooting sports through 4-H and YHEC programs, participated in community conservation events, helped create university hunting opportunities, and introduced countless young people and families to the outdoors. Every event, partnership, and project is driven by one goal: ensuring the future of waterfowl conservation and preserving our hunting heritage for generations to come.

The May/June issue of Decoy Magazine is now in the mail. Our cover features the two million-dollar decoys that was sold in the recent decoy auction from the collection of Jim and Diane Cook. It includes part two of the article on Ed Phillips, who the author refers to as the Da Vinci of Dorchester County, Maryland decoys. There's an interesting historical piece on the Meloche family of Riviere-aux-Canards, who made spearfishing decoys for generations. There's a profile on Ronnie and Ben Flynn, prolific hunters and talented decoy makers from Louisiana. And there are all the latest decoy show and auction reports. This incredible initiative rewards kids and teens who are found wearing their life jackets while boating, creating positive interactions and promoting a simple message that saves lives.

At Delta Waterfowl SOLA, our mission goes beyond ducks. We are committed to supporting conservation, outdoor education, youth engagement, and programs that make a lasting impact across Louisiana.
