This is awesome
What you're looking at is Hedonism(y) Trojaner — a life-sized rocking horse sculpture built from over 18,000 recycled computer keyboard keys, by Greek artist Babis Panagiotidis - [IG].
The title does a lot of work. "Trojaner" is the German word for "Trojan," as in the Trojan Horse of Greek mythology and the Trojan virus of the digital age. The internet, Panagiotidis suggests, has become our Trojan Horse: something we invited in willingly, that now touches every corner of our lives. We define ourselves by our profiles. We shop, love, argue, and exist online. The horse sits on a rocking base — playful, almost childlike — which makes the commentary land that much harder.
The sculpture's own story adds another layer: the original was destroyed by a landlord's chainsaw while stored in a rented garage in Germany. A court later valued the work at €70,000. Even the destruction feels symbolic.
Every key is placed by hand, following the natural contours of the horse's body. Up close, you can see letters, function keys, arrows — the entire vocabulary of our digital lives, shaped into something ancient and powerful.
Art that makes you think twice about the screen you're reading this on. ❤️
