✨ PAYTON LORE HAS ENTERED THE CHAT ✨

Payton Blesy recently came to me and said she feels left out of all the Inkery lore.

(She did not. I made that up.)

But I told her the lore is getting out of hand and I’m only one woman with a rapidly dwindling supply of creativity, so instead we came up with something else:
(By WE I mean ME)

Every so often.... ideally weekly.... realistically whenever Payton and I both remember this exists. Payton is going to creep through our followers list, pick one of you completely at random, and design a tattoo she thinks you’d like based solely on your profile.

No pressure to get it. No obligation. Just Payton professionally judging your vibe and turning it into a tattoo.

Also, in an unfortunate plot development, Payton’s 9–5 recently went out of business.

This is particularly devastating because she had been diligently saving for a life-size animatronic velociraptor for her future dining room. (Guys. I'm trying to keep you entertained here. Just go along with it okay? Payton really wants to do more tattooing)

So she needs to tattoo more than ever!

Go look at Payton’s work, book with our apprentice, and help this woman achieve financial stability and, someday, dinosaur ownership. 🦖

🥧 JAMES PRIES PRIZED PIES 🥧
(Pries is pronounced “Prees.” Pies is pronounced “pies"... keep up)

Because apparently Dee getting wig lore created some tension in the workplace.😬
(That's not true, I made that up)

So every week starting now through fall, we’ll be posting a real vegetarian pie recipe. James is vegetarian. And these are HIS pie recipes....(no they're not. I found them online)
accompanied by a tiny piece of completely fabricated James lore. (James prefers to be bald and refused to start buying his own wigs for James wig lore.)

First up:📝

🥧🍎 James Pries Prized Pies:🥧🍎 Brown Butter Apple Crumble Pie

James would like everyone to know that he has always supported Dee’s wig journey. He simply wondered aloud why nobody had ever considered his contributions to the Inkery cinematic universe.

With sincerest apologies, we’ve corrected the oversight.

For the filling:

- 6 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp browned butter

For the crumble:

- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp browned butter

Plus:

- 1 prepared 9-inch pie crust

Brown 6 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan until golden and nutty-smelling, then let it cool slightly.

Toss the apples with the brown sugar, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, vanilla, salt, and 3 tablespoons of the browned butter.

Pile the filling into the pie crust.

Mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the crumble, then stir in the remaining browned butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the apples.

Bake at 375°F for 50–60 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the crumble is golden brown.

Let it cool before slicing.

Meet Deelilah. 🦇

Today Dee Calato arrived as Deelilah — a woman with waist-length blonde curls, a bat clip, a perfectly iced coffee, and a past nobody can quite piece together.

Deelilah has outlived three husbands, and frankly, the town has questions.

She insists each death was a tragic misunderstanding, and since nothing was ever proven, people have learned to stop asking and just accept the fact that Deelilah somehow gets everything she wants.

She owns more black clothing than any woman with hair this blonde should.

She knows everybody’s business, reveals none of her own, and has a way of smiling at you that feels both warm and mildly threatening.

Nobody knows exactly where Deelilah’s money comes from.

Nobody knows why she always smells expensive.

Nobody knows why she keeps a bat clip in hair big enough to hide state secrets.

What is known is that she does not miss, does not explain herself, and does not tolerate cheap coffee.

🎤 MEET DEEVANA 🎤

Walked into Inkery today and genuinely thought Dee Calato had brought in a friend to tattoo her.

Then I realized Dee wasn't in the chair.

Dee was the tattooer.

Except today, she's DeeVana.

DeeVana is a retired pop sensation who had three platinum albums in the late '80s, abruptly left the music industry in 1997 citing “creative differences,” and has refused to elaborate ever since.

After a brief but lucrative Vegas residency, two divorces, and an unauthorized greatest-hits album.- While STILL fighting her former label over royalties, DeeVana has decided to pursue her other passion: tattooing.

She will be covering Dee's appointments today.

Please do not ask her to perform her biggest hit. She's trying to move on.
