She has been creating in various genres since she was a child, and painting with acrylic on canvas has always been her preferred medium. She is self taught, with no formal training since grade school. She became a single mother right out of high school, in 2000, and struggled to make ends meet, which pushed my creative outlets to the back-burner. With her children now grown, she is painting again as a way to examine and heal from the journey through life as a teenage mother, living through poverty and abuse, to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Through strong movement, heavy textures, and vibrant colors, she tries to express the vast spectrum of whimsical and powerful women. She aims to showcase the power of sisterhood, and the beauty of complexity that feminine energy brings to the world.
