On April 26th we tried something totally new and held our first Pingolf Tournament.

Let me start by saying that I really appreciate everyone who came out to Mike and Monas - US 12 for this format and to try out our first outing with us. I decided that I was going to treat this like an actual golf outing and we would play 18 holes. And I even ordered pizza for the turn after we completed 9 holes.

Well I guess you could say that we all learned something. We all learned one big thing and that is that 18 holes is not fast even though you might be able to score the points you need in the first ball even though all of the games were set to 5 ball.

Anyway after around 9-10 hours of play we played our 18 holes and then played two three hole playoff rounds to determine the winner of the entire tournament.

Honestly, I think that everyone had a great time and ultimately the consensus was that we should do it again sometime. Just with maybe like 12 holes instead.

Here are the results of the tournament:
1. Nathan Brooks
2. Jeff Catenacci
3. Andy Raisanen
4. J. Utley

Big thanks to Greg Reinhart for providing the translite for the giveaway that was themed for the event which was No Good Gofers. And Tyrus Eagle won it in our random drawing, and of course it is one of his favorite games.

Wow I guess I really am catching up on these posts for Pinball. Andy Raisanen asked me if I ever did a post for his 50th Birthday Bash, and I said that I did. I put in the results but didn't post the pictures.

What a great turnout we had for our Stern Army Monthly Tournament and to Celebrate Andy's birthday.

We had a great turnout for the event and we all had a great time celebrating with Andy. We ended up playing three hours of matchplay with an 8-person finals. We played three rounds of PAPA style finals and ultimately and Sterling went undefeated.

Here are the results:
1. Sterling Mitaska
2. Evan Williams
3. Davin Raisanen
4. Uber Hubris

And J. Utley took home the James Bond Translite!

I hope everyone had as much fun as me and I look forward to more fun tournaments with everyone soon.

I haven't posted in a minute about our pinball results. Work has had me pretty busy. On April 12 we held a tournament Canton Brew Works, and decided that we would do something a little different and just focus on classics for the entire tournament. We had 9 players join us and I really appreciate Chris Ruszkiewicz Zaborny inviting so many people. It was a great time had by everyone and I have a new respect for operators that have classics in there lineups because I felt like I was continually opening machines and adjusting something.

We tried something a little bit different with our EM and older SS machines that are at the Brewery and loaded them with "Powerballs". It was pretty fun, and if you are wondering all of the older machines at the Brewery have them still installed.

After 2.5 hours of Matchplay and a PAPA 3-game playoff, the results were:
1. Phillip Brooks
2. Evan Williams
3. Kris Szczesny
4. Frank deCarli

Stay tuned I am setting up our next tournaments for the summer right now and will be posting them soon for everyone.

So I spent most of the day today at Mike and Monas - US 12 working on all of the games. I messed with the switches on Jurassic Park, and then played it like 30 times to verify that the right flipper wasn't flipping by itself. On Stranger Things I made adjustments to the ramp switches on the cam and then played it like 30 times to validate that the ramp was coming down consistently. On Bond I took the drop target assembly out and tightened everything down, adjusted the level and made it less floaty. It seems to be playing well, let me know, because I put up a 1.7B score after working on it. On Venom I adjusted the tilt bob and lifted up the rubbers on the flippers to eliminate air balls and the balls skipping over the flippers. On Star Wars I adjusted the tilt bob a little bit. Oh and we changed the translite on Bond.

We played some Pokemon too, it seems like it is going to a lot of fun to play. I caught some Pokemon.

We should be ready for Andy's birthday Saturday and the tournament for his birthday on Sunday.

The results were as follows:
1. Patrick Mendis
2. Uber Hubris
3. Nathan Brooks
4. Phillip Brooks
5. Steven Parker

Thank you to everyone who came out to play. And our two news games were well received, Motordome and Roller Disco.

Hey everyone, sorry about the confusion with the posting on IFPA. The tournament today is at Canton Brew Works at 3:00pm because they are hosting Drag Queen Bingo and they asked us to start an hour later. I will probably get there around 1:45 or so. And figure if anyone shows up at the normal time we can play some head to head pinball, my treat!

I hope everyone is excited about Sunday as I am. This Sunday we are having our Stern Army Star Wars Fall of the Empire Launch Party On November 16th at Canton Brew Works. And then on December 7th at US12.

As you all know we have two locations, therefore we will have two launch parties like we did with King Kong. But we are doing things a little bit different this time.

1. We are giving away a 4' tall Darth Vader that speaks. See picture below, thanks to Chris Pascaretti and Pascaretti Enterprises he will be wearing a super cool Stern T-shirt! This will be random given away to one lucky winner. If you attend the first laungh party at Canton Brew Works on November 16th you will get one entry into the drawing. And if you attend our second launch party at US12 on December 7th you will also get an entry into the drawing. So ultimately if you come to both launch parties you will have two entries to win.

2. We will have other random give aways that are Star Wars themed at both of the parties.

3. Before the start of the tournament I will erase the Grand Champion Score on the game. I will be giving away the Star Wars Banner to the person that has the Grand Champion Score on the Machine at the end of the Tournament on December 7th. I am going to try and move the machine from Canton Brew Works to US12 Thanksgiving Weekend sometime. This will give everyone an opportunity to play it between the tournaments to set the GC score.

4. Of course at each of the Launch Parties we will have the Grand Champion Plaque given away to the winner as well as a random giveaway of the Translite from the game.

And yes I did move the tournament at US12 to December because I didn't want to interfere with the finals for the last League Finals at Pinball Pete's current location. I know it is sentimental to all of us in the pinball community.

As I always I can't wait to see all of my friends at each of these events, and let the Force be With You!
