This show started out as something I wanted to do for a long time and the cost of it was more than most people would put into holiday decoration. However, that didn't deter me from trying to put on some great, free entertainment for our neighbors and our community. This show is completely self funded. We even raised some money for Disabled American Veterans chapter 114 right here in Livonia.

Well, I have been notified that due to the current world economic climate (tariffs) the cost of pixels will be going up 125 percent. That would push the per pixel cost from around 30 cents per pixel to about 70 to 75 cents per pixel. To put this in perspective, our show 3 years ago was 5,000 pixels. If you do the math, it's simply no longer feasible to do this show. Due to the incredible rise in cost, Busch Family Lights will not be back for at least this year, maybe longer.

Thank you to everyone that has come out in the past and enjoyed the show with your family, friends and neighbors. Hopefully this is see you later and not a goodbye.

So I have an update on this years show. I had planned on moving to projection mapping this year using a high end laser projector. Unfortunately, my neighbor called DTE and complained that our street light wasn't bright enough. DTE will not dim the light for me so unfortunately my plans for this year have fallen through. Bright street light + projector = terrible viewing.

However, there is a bright side to this for next year: I have already begun planning and programming for next year. There will be some new, exciting features to the display for everyone to enjoy. This is a tough message for me to write because I had looked forward to putting on a spectacular display this year with incredible music and visuals. A lot of planning and work goes into these types of shows people look forward to seeing, including myself. So, be ready in 2025 for the ultimate holiday light show extravaganza. Over a years worth of work will be going into it. Until then, enjoy the rest of your year and I hope your viewing of other holiday light shows is spectacular!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to take this moment to thank everyone for coming to our little light show over the past 3 years. The time it takes to put this show on has zapped about all of the free time I have had over the past few years. Between programming the actual show, building the props (each individual light is set by my own hand) and putting the display up, it takes a good 2 or 3 months just to be ready.

As some of you know, I own and operate a lawn care company. This year, business has just been non-stop. There has been no free time and I need a vacation with my family. That is why this year, we will NOT be having a holiday light show. HOWEVER, this is not the end of our journey. I am already planning and working on next years new display. No more individual lights. I am taking our display and my creativity to the next level with a little something called projection mapping. Below, you'll find a example of what will be going on here for Halloween and Christmas 2023. In the meantime, there are a lot of other great displays locally to visit and I will put a small list below.

We hope that all of you have a safe, happy and healthy holiday season and look forward to seeing all of you next year for our new display!

Final Show Weekend! If you want to catch the show one more time before Halloween, this weekend is the final run. I will be turning it all off after Sunday. Thank you to all of you who donated to our cause and all of you that came out to see the show! Definitely warms our hearts to see the joy people get from our little light show.

P.S. There will be zero christmas music playing this weekend. It will be a garden variety of songs. Hope you enjoy!
