The Visual Passion Duo An ongoing painting collaboration since 2010 between Gerard Amsellem and Mikel Frank, The Visual Passion Duo

Mikel and Gerard met in 2010 just after Mikel's father passed away. Gerard had lost his brother a couple of years earlier and it was still weighing heavily on him. The two became instant friends due to their deep feelings about death and dying. The first large scale painting they created together is called "The Passing" dedicated to the memory of Bernie Frank and Alain Amsellem. They took on the name "The Visual Passion Duo" since they are both very passionate about art and painting and thought it a fitting brand after their large scale interactive installation piece at 1978 Maplwood Arts Center hosted Visual Passion: On Love, which was a month long project where Gerard and Mikel transformed Gallery 1978 into a happening event that immersed visitors into all aspects of creativity.
