The Music: Polk County Pagan Market is the Southern Pagan folk project of Jason McLelland, blending ancestral storytelling, backwoods mysticism, and outlaw community spirit. Born in the pines of East Texas, McLelland creates music for the ones who never fit the church pew, who honor freedom, roots, and old ways whispered through the trees. A rising independent voice championing spiritual autonom

y and creative rebellion, Polk County Pagan Market builds community around empowerment, ritual, and self-defined faith, no gatekeepers, no shame, no apologies. Recently signed to Hallwood Media, McLelland is pushing Pagan folk into a modern space, fusing tradition with cinematic songwriting, haunting harmonies, and a fierce devotion to artistic independence.

As we head into the weekend, the Moon hangs low as a waning crescent, growing thinner each night as we approach the New Moon.

For many of us Pagans, this is a time of reflection. A time to clear away what no longer serves us and prepare for what comes next.

And what comes next is Midsummer (also known as Litha, Summer Solstice).

In the Northern Hemisphere, we're approaching the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The Sun reaches its peak, fields are growing, gardens are thriving, and many of us are preparing for Litha celebrations around fire, food, family, and community.

But while we're celebrating the height of summer, our pagan friends in the Southern Hemisphere are experiencing the opposite. For them, this is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year and a time of hearth fires, reflection, and welcoming the return of the Sun.

Wherever you are, take a moment this weekend to step outside. Watch the moon before dawn. Feel the warmth of the sun. Listen to the birds, the wind, the insects, and the trees.

Blessed Litha to those preparing for summer. Blessed Yule to those welcoming winter.

I just noticed that there is a misspelling on our Litha release that came out today. I'm gonna see if I can reach out to the record label and figure out what's gotta happen to get it fixed.

Not sure how it happened, I could have been half asleep when I submitted it to the label. Regardless that's our Litha release, even though it's spelled Lithia.

According to today's news, Southern Baptists have voted to advance a constitutional amendment that would formally ban churches from having women pastors.

Pagans:

"Anyway, here's the High Priestess, the coven leader, the event organizer, the herbalist, the teacher, the business owner, and the grandmother everyone actually listens to."

Different management styles, I guess.
