The Festival:
The Polk County Pagan Market meets several times a year in Livingston Texas. In 2023 we will be gathering for Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh & Samhain. Each of these events are listed under the events tab and on Eventbrite. This is a free event networking Pagans, Wiccan's Witches and like-minded individuals while giving a safe space to come together, free from pressure or hate. We are always seeking unique vendors & entertainment to add to our growing group. To become a vendor, please use the appropriate form on our website. Vendor fee grants available for those in special circumstances. The Polk County Pagan Market is a fairly new event. A growing market that has met some pushback from Religious opposition in its beginning. On November 12th 2022 the first event was held in Livingston successfully. Nearly 500+ people came to visit with from all around, despite the small protests set up outside of the event by out of town Christian groups, such as a small group of non local protestors. Following this, the second event was held on Imbolc February 4th 2023, featuring 96 vendors and seen a 1500+ turnout. This is event is dedicated to the Pagan Community, Hosted in Livingston Texas, but networking Pagans all around the world. Please let others know, share with your friends and let everyone know!!

Looks like it's time again for the yearly posts telling us Halloween is evil, costumes are devil worship and plastic skeletons open portals to Hell.

Let those kids have some fun, dress up and collect enough candy to last until Thanksgiving. Treat the spirits well, too. They only get one night a year when the veil is thin enough to cross, and some of them have been waiting a very long time.

So leave out an offering, light a candle and show the dead a little respect.

The hardcore Christians can keep warning everyone about opening doors. Pagans know better than to leave a spirit standing on the porch.

Especially when it remembers where you sleep.

On July 28, Tennessee State Representative Monty Fritts said out loud that he wanted to ban mosques and what he called “pagan religions.”

Fritts was running for governor when he said he wanted to ban non-Christian places of worship. He grouped Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism under the word pagan and argued that the First Amendment only limits Congress, not state governments.

The First Amendment protects the right of Americans to practice their religion without the government picking which faiths are allowed. That includes Pagans, witches, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and everyone else. Religious freedom does not mean freedom for one religion to control everyone else.

In early August, the Aquarian Tabernacle Church issued a response supporting Pagans, Wiccans and people following earth-centered, polytheistic and other non-Christian spiritual paths. They made it clear that our freedom is not something politicians get to hand out or take away based on their own religious beliefs.

Fritts lost the Republican primary on August 6, but nearly 168,000 people still voted for him. He received about 23.5 percent of the vote and won five counties.

This Thursday night, August 27, we will get to see a partial lunar eclipse right here in East, Texas.

The eclipse will faintly begin around 8:23 PM. The part you will really be able to notice starts around 9:34 PM. It will reach its peak around 11:13 PM, with about 96 percent of the Moon covered by the Earth’s shadow. It should end around 12:52 AM.

The Moon will also come out of void of course around 9:03 PM, just before the noticeable part of the eclipse begins, and enter Pisces.

Eclipses have long been seen as times of change, endings, truth being revealed and hidden things coming to light. Some traditions use this time to release what no longer belongs in their lives. With the Moon entering Pisces, the night is also connected with intuition, dreams, emotions and listening to what your spirit has been trying to tell you.

It was released around 1970 making it 56 years old. You can’t help but wonder where it has been, whose hands held it and what stories it may have been part of.
