Happy pride month my friends!
Pride has become a big source of self-expression for me. For so long, at a casual glance, I’ve presented as straight. I’ve been with my husband since high school. And as a teacher in a sort-of conservative town, I didn’t out myself much.
But for the last few years, I’ve worked hard to be as loud about pride as possible. Because at its heart it is a protest. And so if I’ve gotten brave enough to flaunt my pansexuality, I feel it’s important I do, so that those who don’t feel safe know they’re not alone. So that I’m part of the normalization of this very normal way of being.
I’m here if you ever want to talk. I’m here if you have any questions. I’m here for whatever you need. But above all, I’M HERE. I’m here, and I’m a pansexual woman, mother, and wife. And I’m proud of me and you everyday.

It’s been ages since I’ve made a straight up crystal tray, and this one took longer than most. After I first poured it, it suffered from a bad time I had a few weeks ago with an exothermic reaction. My too hot resin touched the back of this winter cool piece, and cured instantly, leaving a big blob that took me ages to get rid of. This spent about a month outside, getting rained on, while I would grind a little bit of blob away every time I worked on other pieces. But it was finally enough, I domed the back and added crystals this week, and it’s instantly a new favorite.

Okay, shop is updated! I’m going to work my butt off getting orders out ASAP. I’m so grateful to all of you for the support. I love these pieces, and honestly, making ornaments is FUN. Like, I want to make them all year. Also, there are some fantastic holiday earrings in there, my krampus earrings sold out quick last time, and so I can’t wait to see what you all chose this time around.
2020 has sucked, there is no denying that. But there is something soothing about an ornament on my beautiful tree commemorating this dumpster fire. 🎄🎄🎄

Too long for a reel, so you all don’t get my face. 🤣 I filmed this meaning for it to be a “come dome resin with me” and it evolved into my safety procedures. If you’ll like to see it whole, I’ll have it in my story and my highlights.
This is really how I work with resin everyday. If you’re looking for a resource on resin safety, I recommend the FB group “Epoxy is not your friend.” Like any group, take some of it with a grain of salt, but there are a ton of practicing resin artists on there who are serious about safety and are willing to help. Including me.
This isn’t meant to be judgmental, I just legitimately had a scare with resin where I gave myself and my mother chronic headaches from being close to the off-gassing in my house. I will give up resin before I bring it back inside. I understand me being able to work outside is a privilege, because I have the space and I live in Northern California with no snow, but finding a safe space is key. ☣️☣️☣️

Hey guys I want to talk about something serious. I was really contemplating about bringing this up but I feel like with the following I have it’s important for me to educate others. As much as resin is fun, you have to be careful on how you use it. It is very trendy right now and I’ve noticed many companies advertising their resin as safe and non toxic. This is simply not true. Even the newer versions of resin do not have enough data to say that it’s not harmful. Usually these types of chemicals sneak up on your health over the years. You should never play with resin without a proper mask (with organic filters). Some people may never react and other people react immediately and have a reaction on their skin. Take it from me, I never had a bad experience with resin. And sometimes I get lazy or too excited and don’t wear my mask when I work. Sure if you do resin once a month and you don’t wear a mask and you’re not prone to an allergic reaction you might be fine. But when it becomes a habit and you’re using resin once a day or even once a week and you’re not wearing a mask, you’re literally exposing yourself to so much danger. Like cancer, infertility and other illnessess.
The worst part is when you don’t react and 5 years later you are sick with something and don’t realise why. I see so many artists out there promotion resin and they bluntly disregard the obviously dangers, like you should never put food directly on resin even if it’s cured. Sure a bowl with bananas where you’re going to peel it off works but never ever should you put meats and cheeses on a charcuterie board made entirely out of resin. Also some resin can take up to 3 months to fully cure! So if you have that piece in your home it may still be giving off fumes that you can’t even smell!
I am not saying that everyone working with resin is going to experience this. This is why it is so dangerous. Because it’s such a trendy product there’s not enough data on it.
I am seeing a lot of new resin companies out there that come and go or rebrand quickly and the reason why is liability issues. Also if you see a super cheap resin brand that seems too good to be true, it probably is. (More on stories)

This is the process video of how I turn these deaths head moth ears I made in to a finished headband.
I love these ears so much I’m dying. Expect them in the next shop update with a few other ears, which should be really soon. I’m aiming for Sunday, so stay tuned.

Had a wonderful day here at ’s last fair of the year. I love seeing people’s reaction to my work in person, or chatting with a follower (hey !), or even the satisfaction of seeing all my work together at once. It was windy and it threatened to rain, but it was worth every minute. Thank you so much to everyone who showed up!

(I’m especially excited for my Frida Kahlo and holiday sweater earrings, which I haven’t shown anyone yet.) 🖤🖤🖤
