Thank you again, to all of your for your thoughts and prayers. I sent this little update in my email this morning but thought I'd post here as well:
Update on my dad: He was transferred to a Step-down unit yesterday. He began physical therapy and speech therapy (swallow and brain as well). He is not swallowing liquids well yet but he can eat and eat he does! He sleeps alot...brain needs that to recover and I hope that last night was his best night yet..not being woken every hour for vitals. His mind is clear, he can speak real well (for that we are truly grateful). He has some gross motor movement of his left arm and leg but has no sensation in them.
Pray for:
-My Mom....she's been a trooper. We take turns taking her to a nearby hotel every night where she sleeps fabulously, while another of us stays with daddy to make sure he has what he needs. She hasn't been home since Friday night! We've all been dragging whatever she needs. She gets a good breakfast at the hotel but mostly eating whatever we can grab at the hospital or someone runs out to grab something.
-My Dad....for increased strength and mobility, that they can find a rehab near Chambersburg when that time comes, and that he will have patience and wait on the Lord's timing.
-My siblings and I...as we change all our schedules around to care for Mother and Daddy while he is recovering....it will be a long road as anyone who has been thru this knows. We are so grateful that there are so many of us so that noone carries the load alone.
Thankful for:
-Our good Father who has blessed us beyond measure and we rest in His care and for the future. Ephesians 1 was shared yesterday by our minister and it's such a blessing to know that God cares for each of us so much.
-I believe my dad is very thankful that this affected his left side, not his right as he is right-handed. He is feeding himself quite well!
Here's another pumpkin card for you...haven't had enuf time to create....it's not done but I love these pumpkins so much and have a bunch lying around.
Off to work on some canning...very blessed that my tomatoes have produced abundantly. Most I just stuck in the freezer til I have time to make sauce but its full so I think today is a tomato juice day!
