Save LACR / Drag Strip

Save LACR / Drag Strip L.A.C.R. has been the home to hundreds of Racing Clubs and Associations for over 40 years. They miss the racing.

From the AV Press Thursday, August 16, 2007

While Granite Construction has begun recovering more than $9 Million worth of mineral aggregate under LACR's former pit area, focus for Valley drag racing enthusiasts has shifted to finding a site for a new dragstrip. City and county officials already miss the estimated $8 million Los Angeles County Raceway put into Valley cash registers annually in hot

el and motel, restaurant, gas station and auto parts receipts. The irrepressible Hillinger, whose primary job description should be raging optimist, said the two weeks since LACR's official closing have been more frenetic than funereal.

And they do this in the name of progress! SOMEONE NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND GET THE STORY STRAIGHT!

John and Ken on KFI where talking about this followup story they were pokin' fun at my nick name and joking around about the people who got killed when they should be advocating the need for a safe place to race and the real problem we are facing.
