To say that Eric Spann sees the world through the eyes of an artist is a drastic understatement. Finding it necessary, in early childhood, to make things with his hands (sewing garments at age 8) set him on an organic path where projects evolved quickly; becoming intricate and more involved through the years. Eric enjoys tailoring, painting, stained glass, pottery, woodwork, needle art, leather cr
aft, drift-wood art from nature, jewelry-making, gardening, baking, glass slumping, and any other form of artist expression he can find. Eric earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Golden Gate Seminary in Mill Valley, California; a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics with an emphasis in Apparel Design from The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville; and attended an Elite Summer Program at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. He has continuing education hours in Oil Painting with Barry Thomas, Little Rock, AR 2020; Figure Painting, Little Rock, AR, 2012; Hand-Thrown Pottery Wheel; Russellville, AR USA 2010; Nova Silver Jewelry-Making School; Chiang Mai, Thailand 2009; Pearl Tying/Hand-knotting Lessons; Hong Kong 2009; Glass Bead-Making; Little Rock, AR, USA 2007; Handy-Craft Tour/Study; Hanoi, Vietnam 2007; Hill Tribe Fabric Weaving; Nan, Thailand 2006; and Handy-Craft Study; Bang Khla, Thailand 2005
Eric is husband to Dana Glover Spann and father to Sadie Rose Warrum (Jonathan Warrum), Sophie Banks (Noah Banks), Sealie Spann, and Simon Spann (Triniti Horner Spann) and is expecting his first grandchild in November (baby Banks).
