This Black History Month, Listen With Your Eyes Dance Troupe proudly honors our Founder and Artistic Director, Brandy “Unique the Deaf Dancer” Mimms.

As the first DeafBlind Dancer to break barriers at the collegiate level, Brandy made history as the first DeafBlind Black female dancer to graduate from UA Little Rock with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She continued her journey by earning her Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from Jacksonville University, further solidifying her place as a trailblazer in the arts.

As a performer, Brandy moves through Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and improvisation with strength, precision, and fearless storytelling. As a choreographer and educator, she creates powerful, accessible work that centers representation, inclusion, and social change.

Through her leadership and vision, she has built a company where Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and hearing artists unite in one shared language—dance.

This Black History Month, we celebrate her resilience, her artistry, and her historic impact on the dance world.

This Black History Month, Listen With Your Eyes Dance Troupe is proud to honor and represent one of our own— Donald M. Falls.

Donald is the first Deaf Black cinematographer to graduate from Full Sail University, a historic achievement that reflects his talent, determination, and creative vision. His work behind the camera tells powerful stories through film and photography, while his presence on stage brings life through Hip Hop, Pop Locking, Modern, and Swing dance. As a hip-hop artist known as “Rapper Don,” he also shares his voice through music.

For the past five years, Donald has been a dedicated member of Listen With Your Eyes Dance Troupe, continuously showcasing his artistry, passion, and powerful performance style.

Through dance, film, and music, Donald is not just performing—he is making history. This Black History Month, we celebrate his artistry, his talent, and his impact.
