What do you say about someone who was so dearly loved by so many? What do you say about someone who had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back? What do you say about someone who brought sunshine into every room he entered?
For us, Sean was taken far too soon. But our timing is not God's timing. While we trust God's perfect plan, today we grieve the unimaginable loss of someone who meant so much to our family, our organization, and everyone blessed to know him.
Sean Porter was much more than a member of the Porter family he was one of the people who helped hold us together. He had an incredible gift for turning even the most difficult situation into one filled with laughter. No matter what was happening, Sean could somehow lighten the moment and remind us what truly mattered. That was simply who he was.
There isn't enough space to describe all of his many gifts, but anyone who ever enjoyed one of his unforgettable meals knows he was a truly gifted chef. As the owner of Poros Catering, Sean shared his talent with countless people, bringing family and friends together around a table filled with love.
For the Art Porter Music Education family, Sean was far more than our chef and caterer. For years, he lovingly prepared meals for our visiting artists, musicians, volunteers, and staff. Every plate he served reflected the generosity of his heart. Through his warm smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine love for people, he made every guest feel like family. Many of our artists arrived in Little Rock as visitors but left feeling as though they had been welcomed into the Porter family because of Sean.
Sean's legacy will not be measured only by the meals he prepared, but by the countless lives he touched with his kindness, his laughter, his generosity, and his unwavering love for family. He had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved.
Sean, we can only imagine Uncle Gene standing at Heaven's gates with open arms, welcoming his son home. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing you are at peace.
You were deeply loved, and your absence leaves an immeasurable void. Yet we know your spirit will continue to live on in every family gathering, every shared meal, every laugh, and every life you touched.
With grateful hearts for the time God gave us, the Porter Family and the Art Porter Music Education family say, "Thank you." We will love you always, we will miss you dearly, and we will never forget you.
